I feel comfortable in my position. Just because I feel confident about it doesn't mean others can't hold a different opinion. I haven't bashed anyone for liking Wiggins more than Parker. I just don't agree. People felt the same way when I was proclaiming Embiid as the clear-cut top prospect before it was popular to do so. In fact, some of the same people complaining in this thread about people dissing other's opinions bashed me at the time for it. But I just have my own opinion and when I feel comfortable with it, I share it. I don't think I'm ever really disrespectful about it. Some people just seem insecure about their opinions and don't like it when someone else holds a differing one. I don't really care whether you have Wiggins as #2. It's your opinion - doesn't bother me.

2 things here man -

Once I started coming around and had Embiid as my 1, you replied to me saying "you've come a long way", to which I replied to you saying "yeah I have, I was an idiot for saying Embiid wasn't 1, and I just wanted Wiggins to be the best since he's who I already had envisioned as the Bucks savior". I thought our beef was squashed. Then you kept referring to me (albeit indirectly) in other posts to others about "people who would bash me for liking Embiid". I admitted I was wrong dude, and you kept crying about it. Get over it.

Secondly, you don't come off as disrespectful? Some posts from other threads

I'm not a stats guy, especially when it comes to talent evaluation and projection at the next level, but I have watched these guys - both live and after the fact - more than most people here, I would guess.

What makes you assume you've watched more of these guys than the thousands that post here? You've been here a year man.

It's because you're a fan who has annual draft amnesia.

I'm saying pre-draft, people like you assume that guys grouped in the same tier - tiers that they didn't even make but rather just adopted because they have been told that they are in the same tier

I don't have a problem with you having an opinion and sticking to it, I just think the little jabs like "Let's hope Philly fall in love with Wiggins" or "Send Dan Gilbert some Wiggins high school highlights" are obvious slights you know will get a rise from people, just as people are throwing out jabs about Embiid's back, Parker's defense or Exum's competition.

I'll bow out after this, but come on you were suspect number 1 in sensitivity when it came to anything Embiid 2 weeks ago. People would say the littlest thing and we'd get a 3 paragraph post on Embiid and his potential from you. I'm just saying those little slights on Wiggins like anyone would be a fool for wanting him are the exact things you used to get thrown into a tizzy about with Embiid but now we're the sensitive ones. Isn't like I think you are a bad poster and should stop posting, I just think there's some pretty large pot calling the kettle black going on in your actions.

You OBVIOUSLY didn't watch any Michigan games. Stauskas is far and away the best prospect in this years draft because...

What really disgusts me, is when people are being told that they're evaluating players the wrong way, or when people say things like "this is fact, this is who's the best, you're an idiot/blind/don't know how to evaluate if you don't share my thought". Like scouting is becoming some sort of competition on the board.

I totally agree with this. The draft opinions expressed by a fan are formed from a hodge-podge of YouTube clips, "expert" analysis, janky draft websites, game-watching with preconceived notions, and groupthink. Which makes the sureness with which some hold their opinions a little strange. (edit: I reread this and it applies to NBA front offices as well)

And everyone knows the draft is a near crapshoot when it comes to a specific player panning out. Even talented scouts screw up all the time. So just sit back, enjoy the draft, and don't get too worked up about it. If the Bucks miss on this pick it will be no fault of their own, but of the perils inherent in prospect scouting.

That said, Embiid is a Thabeet-level bust in the making. If you disagree you are incorrect and not a fan of the same caliber as I.

Status jus is under rated, he is one guy who is very capable of passing as well as scoring, something I am not completely sold on with Wiggins and Parker. I am not saying draft Nick at #2, but if a trade could be made to get back in the top 10 I would seriously look at him.

Role players on contenders get overrated, Leonard is great and all but he's great because he's a cog in an existing championship machine. Put him on the Bucks or anywhere and ask him to be THE MAN, I don't people would holding him in such high regard. Prime Marion and prime Kirilenko as great as they were, never were the man and never won anything on their own. We need an alpha dog, we need a guy to carry us because we're essentially starting from scratch here. We don't have coach, we have a GM, we don't have a Tim Duncan superstar player.

Are you really comparing the TS% of a Wing Player who takes a bunch of Jump Shots all over the floor to a who dunker who strictly plays around the basket? Of Course A'mare is gonna have the better TS%, he didn't take many shots outside the paint.

In some ways, that further shows why I do not want a Melo type player. You do not want your primary option to be "someone who takes a bunch of Jump Shots from all over the floor" (unless they do see with Legendary efficiency like Durant or Curry). In the NBA, you are not awarded points for degree of difficulty. The fact that Prime Amare can get and convert more shots near the rim than Melo is basically a sign of superior offensive production.

A'mare also benefitted from playing with one of the best Point Guards of the last decade in Steve Nash. He made killing off being on the receiving end of the pick n roll with Nash. Not to mention they played in a crazy uptempo offense where they scored a staggering amount of points.

Amare did have some stat inflation due to the system, but lets not act like those George Karl Nuggets teams were the 90 Knicks or anything. The Dantoni Suns may have led the league in pace, but I bet those Nuggets teams were not too far behind.

This is why I brought up Parker on the Spurs a few days ago: he'd play no role. They have no use for an iso-heavy player who doesn't pass or create for others.
