Re: Woj: Malcolm Brogdon S&T to Pacers for Picks
Loved Malcolm as a player and a person, and I wish him well even on a division rival team, but if you think that he was/is the difference in winning a championship or not, then I'm gonna say that you were never sold on this team as a championship contender in the first place. One of the free agents was always gonna have to be expendable, and unfortunately it was him. They're obviously not done making moves so I'm interested to see what they do with those picks and the salary exceptions.

You must love Bud Selig.
Yea dude. Have a shrine.
Miss.
Just about anybody else would have kept the franchise in Milwaukee because it was a prerequisite of the deal, unless they couldn't get the arena deal done eventually. Which they did, while scamming the public out of a hundred million dollars because they sold the start building by date as a build by one and presented Kohl's donation to the arena/public as their own. Not exactly something that should engender good will forever which should give them a free pass when other indiscretions occur. If anything the opposite is the case. They should be held to a higher standard. Unless you're an authority worshiping sucker.

Just seems that people care way too much about the regular season and dismiss what happened in the ECF. We really looked bad vs a good team who played good D.emunney wrote:msiris wrote:Surround Giannis with shooters. We sure did it last year. But Brogdon, Snell, and Niko out... Nobody in. Offseason's young but this is easily my biggest concern: that they've discounted what got us here because we missed too many shots against Toronto.

I actually like that we reloaded on picks if we were going to lose him anyway. He needs to be replaced though if we want to seriously contend, curious to see who we target. Bucks performed pretty well without Brogdon last season so I can see why they thought he was expendable.

You can't get a FA with that TPE unless we're talking S&T.
RFA in a sign and trade?
DLo?
Can someone explain base year compensation?

So we can win a championship with the same team that couldn’t last year, only to plug either Sterling Brown or Pat C in the starting lineup?

But you can say the same thing about Middleton. The key was having everyone back to make that run.Ron Swanson wrote:Loved Malcolm as a player and a person, and I wish him well even on a division rival team, but if you think that he was/is the difference in winning a championship or not, then I'm gonna say that you were never sold on this team as a championship contender in the first place. The Bucks also performed pretty well without Middleton last year, but instead we nearly maxed him.

Re: Woj: Malcolm Brogdon S&T to Pacers for Picks
Having picks is a big difference, cap space was a huge concern for the team. We had a pretty loaded team go to a pinnacle only to fizzle quite mightily. A presumably healthy Brogdon in the ECF proved to be a non-needle mover.
I for one had overt confidence in obtaining a championship when Brogs came back. It didn't translate, time to move on.

Ummmm. We were 11-7 without him. Without Midds we were 4-1.H2tObes wrote:I actually like that we reloaded on picks if we were going to lose him anyway. No one likes the amount of money Mids got, Bucks couldn't afford to lose him though. It was a **** situation.

GrandAdmiralDan wrote:Order of operations is important. First things that have to happen, are using cap space to sign Lopez or Hill, then shedding about $6 mil of salary (via Leuer stretch or Ersan dump/stretch), and using cap space to sign whichever of Lopez or Hill hasn't been signed. Then, we can, in any order, use the room mid level exception, sign Middleton, S&T Brogdon. That process DOES create a TPE.
Good lord, feel as though Ben Kenobi came to us in a dream and then vanished.
Would you please come back to being a regular here.

50/40/90 guys are very impressive, his 3's were great on paper but the release on those 3's resembling underhanded free throws... were kinda fugly.
