Fubo is one I've been watching as a sports betting play, they got hit with a class action suit today and their stock is tanking. I'll still keep my eye on it.

With tax revenue way down sports betting is a way for states to regain some revenue. I'm somewhat surprised it hasn't even come up in WI although it would probably have to be done through the existing casinos rather than through DK or another operator.

In Illinois the online outfit has to be associated with a bricks and mortar gambling outfit be it casino or race track. So DraftKings is paired with Casino Queen, Fan Duel with Fairmount, Points Bet with Hawthorne, etc.

Wisconsin has a part of the state constitution which outlaws sports betting.

So legislation would be way more complex than simply saying "it's legal"

Two separate sessions of state legislature would have to pass to legalize it, followed by passing a statewide referendum.

Then there would have to be negotiation with the Native American tribes throughout the state because currently they have agreements (exclusivity?) around any form of gambling with the state.

If you're really jonesing to make a legal bet and you're in Milwaukee, you can drive to Zion and do it on your phone.

Iowa has legal sports betting too. If you're in Madison it's a bit more than an hour to Dubuque. Really not bad at all, pretty nice drive too with the hills and all that. Frankly WI is just dumb not to legalize weed and gambling and gain all that revenue, especially as both probably have around 70-75% public approval. I actually avoid online and kind of like having that hour barrier so you're not doing it every day. But it's close enough to pop down for an afternoon or before a football weekend.

Hanging in there, losing $$$ of course but looking for opportunities. Other than FRX I haven't bought anything this week. My biweekly 401k goes in tonight.

Anticipating another bloodbath tomorrow, upped my blue hat position significantly today and will do some tomorrow if this continues. Kindof a gamble stock but it's my mental response to hating my job the past couple of months. GLTA

I bought about 3000 doge about 1 year ago at .002. Easy return so far.

I remember thinking laws and whatnot actually mattered. DK and their comp has been operating just fine in Wi for years. My poker is the only thing the government seems to outright stop. Hell, I still dont see how Uber and Lyft are remotely legal. Get a big enough valuation and you can do what you like.

Now that the COVID relief bill is about to become law, you're already hearing rumblings from the bond market people and others about inflationary fears.

Hard to see the post-COVID economy getting overheated for a long time. I guess if you look at what we all expect to be a strong economy this year without pointing out that most of that strength, maybe all of it and then some, is just a rebound off the dusting it took last year, you might say "see -- here comes inflation." But you would be kind of dumb to do so.

Friday may have been kind of a microcosm of the dialogue between inflation fearers and those who just don't see it, with the latter winning the afternoon. We'll see what next week (and the next several months) bring to the stock market. I'm bullish.

Long term lurker, was an OG in the JSOnline forums, signed up recently, this my first post. I'll give you one stock pick and one crypto pick.

The stock pick won't necessarily have the highest ROI when it's said and done, but its upside/risk ratio is the greatest of all stocks I've researched (and I've researched a bunch). Stock: SWBI. Slaughtered recent earnings even after FIVE upward revisions in earnings AND revenue estimates. CRAZY low forward P/E ratio since American Outdoor Brands got spun off. Decent short-squeeze potential with short interest being roughly 12%, short ratio close to 3, with institutional ownership at 66%. While those aren't phenomenal in a vacuum, I believe the low average daily volume at ~5% of float would amplify any squeezing effects. Lastly, politics aside, gun sales are not declining any time soon IMO.

Crypto-wise, XRP is my bet. Out of all "major" cryptos, this one has been kept down mainly due to the uncertainty with the pending lawsuit. Again, this comes down to upside/risk ratio. Will it fall if the lawsuit turns out unfavorable, absolutely. BUT, the low likelihood of that coupled with some expectation of it already priced in, limits downside. UPSIDE-wise, let's just say that its ATH is above $3, and it used to be the 3rd crypto after BTC and ETH. Fundamentally, nothing changed about XRP besides the lawsuit.

Anyway, obviously I'm holding both assets but this shouldn't be seen as an attempt to "pump" I hope. I only speak with facts. Best of luck everyone!

And go Bucks (fan since 1999)!

My HPST is finally moving, up 40% this morning. I still need another 20% to get back to even and I think it will probably pull back and not go higher today.

And just like that it went from 40% green to red.

The best thing about the latest run is that it's probably making Dave Portnoy really, really angry.
