The important part is Jimmy, Reaves, Ware is better than Dame, Prince, Portis

What about Dame, Lopez, Khris, Pat C for Butler, Bam, Herro?

Why does Miami do it? IDK...I figured we are throwing random ideas out there and I like that one.

Zero chance. They value Bam and Herro. They simply want something for Jimmy to help them get to the playoffs this season while also not taking in salary beyond next season (when Jimmy was set to expire).

After that they have all their picks and a ton of cap space so they’ll try to lure another free agent or trade for a star to bring to South Beach.

In the meantime, I assume they plan to keep letting Herro develop and feeding minutes to Ware.

This is why Bobby and Midds seems like a good starting point for Butler. They raise the floor of that team to at least get past the playin. Plus neither is a long term salary commitment. Heck, if a star become available via trade in the offseason or next season. Midds expiring salary helps the pursuit. (Midds is 100% opting in)

Agreed, Miami doesn't do it. But over the next three days I can dream of something like that before our Kyle Kuzma trade happens or even worse.

It takes 2, or more, to make a deal. I'm sure Horst has been discussing Bobby, and others, with several teams. But until/if the right proposal is on the table no deal will be done. We all want the team to "do something". Trades are a lot easier to make on an internet message board than in reality.

Oh yes, I get that, but having to slog thru 2 weeks of games that might have been winnable if we had another big is brutal.

It feels like we either make a big trade that will either make or break this team or a nothingburger like sending out Pat out while making Rollins a regular contract to get under the 2nd apron and nothing else.
Nothing in between.

It's much more likely that Butler goes to Phoenix now in exchange for Durant, with Miami having to give up a few more assets.

LaVine went for a 1st (removed all the protections) and no long term salary. That’s what Chicago needed to tank and rebuild. That’s far from nothing.

Disagree. They already had the pick. They just got the protection taken off and it probably won't mean much anyway.

The point is they gave him away, because no one was willing to give them anything of value.

Yes, they will be in tank mode, but if they could have gotten a few young pieces, they would have done it.

You realize that had it not conveyed this year it just pushed it to top 8 protected next year right?

The Bucks would kill to move Khris for any of the picks they owe right now.

What are your guys thoughts on Ryan Rollins? I liked the draft pick, we sent him to the G-League to start his NBA career then never got to see him at the pro level since he was dealt for CP3.

Durant for Dame won't happen. Suns aren't shopping Durant for another older dude on big money.

I’d look to see if Bobby plus Adams could net you an athletic defensive 5 upgrade (over Adams)

This would be a major heist

Suns hang up. They're not trading Durant for Butler. That's a big downgrade.

Heat probably say no, but perhaps they'd consider it if they got a ton of picks.

I’m a big fan honestly. He’s got a smooth offensive game and puts in effort on defense. He still gets ahead of himself and tries to play above his current skill level but I’m fine with the growing pains. I think most Bucks fans would tell you they’re pleased with how he’s developed so far. Beating out Delon Wright for minutes regardless of the low bar has been a pleasant surprise. He’s earned a NBA contract, I’d be excited to see how he does in a playoff series.

Agreed, but this would have to be Dame going to Miami and Jimmy plus assets going to Phoenix. The non-Dame route is still the Khris and Bobby package to Miami, with Jimmy and our 2031 unprotected 1st to Phoenix. I mean, if the Suns aren't going anywhere as currently constructed, I could see a KD/Butler swap being something they'd consider if they basically replace the 2031 unprotected pick they originally sent out with ours:

MIL Out: Khris, Bobby, Pat, Marjon, 2031 unprotected 1st, 2031 2nd
MIL In: KD

MIA Out: Jimmy
MIA In: Khris, Bobby, 2025 CLE/UTA/MIN 1st

PHX Out: KD, 2025 CLE/UTA/MIN 1st
PHX In: Jimmy, 2031 MIL 1st

4th cap space team gets Pat, Marjon, and our 2031 2nd. That's the framework of it, at least.

Would love to get Claxton. He’d be great in a Bucks jersey. He’s exactly what we need. Throw in Khris so we can get Cam Johnson back to!

I think the Lakers make a hard push for either Claxton or Robert Williams. They would be our competition. I fully agree our biggest need is acquiring a defensive big. I prefer Robert Williams myself.

In theory Timelord is perfect for what we need but his medicals scare me away. Brook is a giant terd sandwich at this point, replacing him with an athletic rim runner like Claxton or a younger and more athletic version of Brook like Myles Turner looks more necessary game by game.

Robert Williams has played 58-games in the last 3-years. I mean, maybe Portland would trade him away for nothing, but even then, I don't know how you guys can rag on this roster for being old and fragile but then be willing to take on arguably the biggest injury risk outside of Lonzo the last several years. Dude's body is busted.

Shams - "Jimmy Butler has made it abundantly clear to all teams inquiring for his services that the only team he would stay with long term is with the Phoenix Suns."

I guess its still worth the rental to clear the salaries of Midds and Bobby but definitely not including a pick for a 1/2 year rental. The more I think about it though probably wouldn't even do it, Jimmy could half ass it, make sure he doesn't get inured and decline his option then sign with PHX or whoever.

Deadline is looking more and more like it will be a big dud for us.

Would legitimately rather sign that Badji guy off the Herd than have anything to do with Bamba.

Doesn’t make any sense from Jimmy’s perspective. He can’t just wait in out and sign there or get traded unless Beal waves that NTC which seems unlikely as nobody wants Beal on that albatross contract. Jimmys gonna rot away in Miami.

I don’t think it works one for one, but I would do a Kyrie/Dame swap if it were on the table. I know that’s probably a minority opinion.
