Then they can throw in picks.
The important part is Jimmy, Reaves, Ware is better than Dame, Prince, Portis
What about Dame, Lopez, Khris, Pat C for Butler, Bam, Herro?
Why does Miami do it? IDK...I figured we are throwing random ideas out there and I like that one.
Zero chance. They value Bam and Herro. They simply want something for Jimmy to help them get to the playoffs this season while also not taking in salary beyond next season (when Jimmy was set to expire).
After that they have all their picks and a ton of cap space so they’ll try to lure another free agent or trade for a star to bring to South Beach.
In the meantime, I assume they plan to keep letting Herro develop and feeding minutes to Ware.
This is why Bobby and Midds seems like a good starting point for Butler. They raise the floor of that team to at least get past the playin. Plus neither is a long term salary commitment. Heck, if a star become available via trade in the offseason or next season. Midds expiring salary helps the pursuit. (Midds is 100% opting in)
Agreed, Miami doesn't do it. But over the next three days I can dream of something like that before our Kyle Kuzma trade happens or even worse.
