This says it all:

Kahn didn’t screw this up as much as the fans at the Wolves’ Draft Party believe he did. Johnson is going to be a solid starter. We didn’t come out of the draft with our franchise-saving superstar, but who did? Washington? Maybe Philly. But we obtained a small forward who projects to be a solidified starter in this league for many years. And his maturity says that he is NBA-ready and will step in and contribute to our struggling Wolves immediately.

When you think about Kahn, is this the background music?

By the way, people think that the song was about Daniel Larusso, but it was really about John Kreese.

Agreed. I really think Webster being in an up-tempo style offense will help out his game. . . . . . I've heard the negatives about him but I'm also intrigued to see what he can do in a different style offense and more minutes.

How many people gave Darko a chance when he came here? A change of scenary did wonders for his game. We can atleast give Webster the same chance.

I like the addition of Martell and Wes, a lot. We've had horrible wing play for years, much like we had horrible point guards for a couple. This is already a much better team. Rambis seemed very happy this afternoon. I trust his take on things a lot more than some fools who only get their info from websites.

Looks like Darko will be back as well, I think that's great. He'll be in shape and motivated to kick some ass. :)

We'll see what happens with Pek and Al. Are they going to the playoffs, no. But as long as they are getting better and are fun to watch I'm cool with that.

After the dust settled from yesterday's draft. I'm looking at it more positively now, I'm guessing we were just expecting to make a really big splash yesterday, although looking back at it now, it didn't seem to be as bad as I thought, actually it's pretty more decent. Now I'm stoked to see what they do this offseason and for next season. :D

I'm down on Webster. I'm not big on rhythm players and inconsistancy. But if he plays D, it's still a +.

The thing that bugs me is Kahn and Co. say all this stuff to butter up a less-than-stellar draft, but if we to make a big move in FA, half of the stuff they say becomes obsolete.

For instance, "Webster works well when given big minutes" - What if we get an All Star level gaurd to play with Wes Snipes, and Webster is downgraded to 15-20 minutes off the bench?

I like this team now, I just have a feeling that many of the positives I'm looking at (lots of high ceiling Euro talent, perimeter D, shooting, athletisim, and toughness) Will be moved before training camp in an effort to get a #1 or #2.

That being said, I still believe the team next year will be much more athletic, tough, and defensive.

I think Jonny and Wes are going to have amazing chemisty. They were really close friend and 'cuse, and you don't get that kind of comradery in 23 year old 1st/2nd year players often.

Love torches next year. All Darko has to do is NOT BUST, and play D (he's always been able to do at least that). That leaves Sessions, Brewer, Webster, and Hayward. Hopefully Brew sticks around, and we get a more complementary PG, but I don't see many reasons to be cursing Kahn into oblivion. Right now, before FA, I think this team will do what Memphis did in 2009-2010. There is more pressure to win, another year in a system with more complementary and well fitting pieces, more defense. It's a good step forward. It could've been better, but it's okay.

And I think passing on guys who everyone passed on (Alabi, Whiteside, etc.) means that they were overvalued (at least one will be a Deandre jordan like value though-its just tough to know which one), and that the FO see's Darko as the answer to most of those problems. I'm not 100% a believer in that, but I understand the reasoning behind it and hope it works out.

To be fair he also talked about Webster being able to feel comfortable with consistent minutes, which he can get as a back up. He just didn't get the minutes in Portland and when he did they were patchy and sporadic. Consistency will be key for him and hopefully Rambis realises that.
