Ah yes, but does safer necessarily mean better?

Besides, that's Givony's opinion. The mock is where he puts in what the team scouts think and I think they had Singler rated right as a late 1st round pick. I guess it comes down to what you consider a prospect though. Personally, it's a combination of current skills and potential to improve later. But maybe others see it differently.

Exactly. Players like George and Whiteside have potential to be very, very good, but the chance they reach that potential are projected as slim due to their mental makeup.

Tiny Gallon reportedly decided to enter the draft (to avoid potential NCAA penalties it sounds like), do the Wolves take a chance in the late 1st? He could be a nice replacement for Jawai as a jolly fatty off the bench.

Ah, I see where you're coming from now. So it takes in both their potential to succeed and fail. Makes sense I guess, although it doesn't change my opinion.

I'd rather pick the fattest guy from the crowd and sit him at the end of the bench.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if Nash got pregnant by Kobe and Lebron at the same time? Well I have.

LAC better not get our pick in 2012.

Could it hurt to use a little Mascera? Maybe even shave your chest a little.

Favors reminds me of Nene. Anyone else see it?

I've got a question for basti. Are there any German players who have a future in the nba other than Elias Harris? I haven't followed German basketball although living 10 minutes away from the Ballsporthalle for years now :P

The last time I've watched basketball here in Germany Misan Nikagbatse was still a candidate for the nba :P

I know some players with Benzing, Pleiß, Ohlbrecht, Staiger and Schaffartzik. Can anyone of them actually make it?

When I watched a game of the European Championship the commentators where always talking about how much potential Robin Benzing has but looking at his stats for Ulm I haven't been impressed at all. Poor FG%, grabs virtually no rebounds although he is big (I know he is a wing but 2.5 rebs/game is still poor). I'm kind of disappointed without even watching him. I'd say draft him with one of our 2nd round picks but I'm not even sure if he's worth that

I can see it from a strength/length standpoint, although Nene's a bit bigger than Favors and he's got better feet, while Favors has some more get-up to him than the fairly earth-bound Nene. I think Favors will be a better rebounder and and shot blocking threat due to the extra springs.

HoWo:

Who's your favorite combo (or rank them if you will) out of Bradley, Warren, Jones, Crawford, Arnie Johnson + anyone else who could sneak in the first that I am forgetting

Anyone interested in Mikhail Torrance? Seems like an awesome player for the Triangle.

I also see a nasty streak in Nene that Favors doesn't have yet. If he develops one...could be damned impressive.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

1) I just don't see the Devin Ebanks love. I've tried, and I really want to like the guy, but it just baffles me. What does he bring to the offensive end, if anything?

2) Has anyone seen Babbit play? Any thoughts? How does he compare to the other SF shooters, i.e. George and Hayward?

Of the guy's with a puncher's chance of sneaking into the first round I'd probably go
Jones
Crawford
Williams
Bradley
Warren
Johnson

It's pretty close between Jones, Crawford and Williams, but I like how Jones sifts his way through traffic the best. From there I like Crawford's range and that he's shown he can make big shots in big moments. Williams probably has the most upside of those three.

Bradley has some red flags, but at least he'll play defense. Warren's as talented a shot creator as any of them, but the possible headcase angle combined with not knowing who he'll defend drop him below the others for me. I think Johnson will end up in the 2nd round.

FYI, he measures out bigger than Ellington.

And he's got the length and athleticism to play either guard spot. He'll go in the 1st round for sure, even as a senior.
