A ton of money, but he fits them great and they have the cap right now before they need to pay Chet or Jdub so they gotta do it. They're going to be very very good.

I think Batum already said he isn't coming back. He could be a long shot, but has ties to Rudy and if he wants to play for a winner at this point in his career, there are few good spots left. Plus as a 10-year vet he gets 3.3 million - Minn only has to pay 2.1. Not bad money to ring chase.
That being said, I think Delon Wright makes more sense.
I swear I heard Batum was retiring.
He did say that. There was people questioning it because I believe he's playing for France this summer. Maybe Rudy can convince him to go 1 more year. Or he may go back to Philly.
Thanks. Playing for team France this year would seem like a great last hurrah for him.

JonK reporting that Kyle, Monte, and Jmac likely gone. Mentions Delon Wright and Joe Ingles as possibilities.

Their replacements are already in place. I don't consider them much of a loss.
Does Kyle, Monte, and J Mc leaving give us any cap relief or are all the numbers I've been hearing not counting any salary from them?

Saw a tweet Garza back for two? If so, now go get a defensive banger at the 5

No. They're free agents.

We have enough players at 5: Gobert, Towns, Reid and Garza. Plus Edwards and LeDee who basically played 5 in students.
It is time to get big forwards and veteran PG

Who's the defensive vet that can come in if Gobert gets hurt or in foul trouble? Kat can't play defense without fouling. Naz, 6'9, 240, Garza no defense and maybe 6'10 very limited athletically, Edwards UDFA no idea if he can play, LeDee 6'9 240.

There isn’t one. Maybe the new Edwards is in the back of TC’s mind. Overall I hate this signing and think that those who favor it will come to see my way of thinking sooner than later. Either way we must bring in another PG and we probably should use the 14th spot on a wing.

I love the Garza signing. He will more than make up for any defensive loss with very high level offense.

I feel like he’s been saying it for the last five years. Then teams take a flier on him, and he does just fine.

That's a very nice sentiment. Its not true, but its nice.
You can not have a non-defender at the 5. You can "hide" just about any other position, but if your "last line of defense" can't defend, it puts way too much stress on your other players.

Sounds like when some of us posters were rationalizing the money for Jeff Teague and Taj Gibson....

Thank you. Garza would be great with a defensive pf next to him ...Jackson Jr type. Naz isn't that. Plus, if TC said he wants the 2nd unit to play fast, that isn't Garza either.

Did Luka play with Kyle Anderson last year?

Yeah in the Denver game where all the bigs were out. I think he may have also got some run with Kyle during the Rudy rib injury while Karl was out with his knee surgery. But I don’t know how many minutes they shared the floor.
