Wolves Unsure About Trading Miller?

Post#1 » by shrink » Sat Jan 24, 2009 1:36 pm

I apologize for not finding a link to ESPN, but I thought I'd bring this over because it's of general interest to people here.

DowJones wrote:Chris Broussard on ESPN (one guy I really like on their network) said 2 interesting things regarding Cleveland...

1. The Kings offered Brad Miller for Wally and Cleveland turned it down. Now he did not mention anything about other pieces (1st rounder, Hickson, etc) but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't be part of the deal.

2. Cleveland is really interested in Mike Miller but Minnesota isn't sure they want to dump him now. CB did speculate that the TWolves would likely be inclined to move Miller as the deadline gets closer.

I think a deal involving Miller, Cardinal, and maybe someone like Craig Smith might be able to get done as the deadline gets closer.

I would rather tag on Rashad McCants than Craig Smith but I would do this:

Min Gets-
C Anderson Varejao
F Wally Szczerbiak
[Maybe JJ Hickson or thier first]

CLE Gets-
G Mike Miller
F Craig Smith
F Brian Cardinal

Cleveland definately says no to that, even without Hickson or a first.

Yeah, Cavs are quite fond of AV, and he's not an essential piece in the trade from my point of view.

Miller has been very good for us since coming off the bench
"That's why the last two years weren't guaranteed," Walsh said. "Either way, he knew it could have happened either way."
