Both players are listed on the Mavs team. Choose 2007-08 season, BTW.
I don't understand at all. After having watched almost his every pro game, I found his jump shooting finally having improved this season. That's too much to say about Devin? He shoots a little better than Kidd NOW. Period.

Even if it's true that Devin doesnt shoot too much better than Kidd, the fact that he drives and finishes/gets to the line forgives that flaw because at the end of the day, Devin puts the ball in the basket more than Kidd does. Throw in the passing and then who knows but as far as individual offense goes, Devin is better. With VC around, if he can be a decent spot up shooter, we're fine. If VC had been traded, then we'd be screwed.

Just the fact that this guy can, defend, get to the basket and shoot "a little better" than Kidd is good enough for me!!

Uh, that is where I got my stats from.

I'm one of the biggest Harris fans in the board and while his shooting did improve, I wouldn't say it's better than Kidd who, like I said, can hit jumpers off the dribble, from the post, et. al. while Harris can only knock down shots when he's completely wide-open as a result of Dirk being double/triple-teamed since no one respects his jumper at all -- and despite all that he's still shooting 36%

New Nets fan here too
Wow, KVH dunking in a Mavs uni? Impressive.
Also, Harris couldn't be more different then Billups.
Billups is a strong tweener who has a deadly three point stroke and a semi-decent post game.
Harris is a legitimate 1 who's very quick, but can't be relied on from much sort of range, and who gets pushed around frequently by guys like Billups, Kidd, Wade.
I can understand if you're comparing him in the sence that Billups didn't blossom until his 4th/5th season, and you think Harris will similarly improve his game and blossom in his 3rd/4th season with his own team in NJ... but other than that I don't see the comparison.

Devin is more like Kevin Johnson than Allen Iverson.

his ability to start a fastbreak will be key component of his game...obviously the drive and dish will become a regular thing for Harris and the Nets..
my comparison would be a Brent Barry type PG (for those who remember his days w/ the Sonics)...not as good of a shooter, but just as good of a passer, if not better...good court vision, plays well on the fast break and a longer lanky body that can rebound and defend most 1s and 2s well...

Jac, I think Harris can get to the rack better than Barry.
If this kid has Barry's jumpshot i'd be doing cartwheels!! too bad. I'm telling you guys tho add him with what we have and we are gonna punch some teams in the mouth!!!!

Here's a Mavs fan's perspective:
Fast as hell. Hard to stay in front of on defense.
Great at breaking down opposing defense.
Fearless going to the basket.
Not a great outside shooter.
Not a great decision maker at the point (yet. maybe with time?). Skills are more physical than mental at this stage of his career.
Good defender, but not very strong. Can get pushed around.
Great teammate. His teammates love him.
He won't go down in history as a great point guard, but he's a quality player to have in your guard rotation. He deserves playing time. You'll end up glad he's on your team.
I hated to see him go, and wasn't really a fan of the trade, so obviously I like him as a player. For what it's worth, that's how I see it.
