I'm just not doing it if I'm Marks.
As long as we get Harden back by the playoffs. And the mandate may be repealed. You have to take that chance.
Trading for Simmons with part time Kyrie ruins any chance we have to win this year.
I still fully believe we get Simmons if we wait for the off season. Philly has no other way of realistically getting cap space.
Worst case scenario is Philly finds a way to magically create the cap space. And then were left with what?
KD/Kyrie/Harris. Can resign Claxton. Bring in some new players. Its not the end of the world.
I would probably take us in a series over Philly with KD/Kyrie over Embiid/Harden anyway.
But Ben Simmons is not a deal breaker for me. And I'm not totally sold hes the right fit.
This is the best Nets team we will ever get. Go down swinging.
If the Nets win a title Harden will not leave. Mark my words.

I’m not hearing about Marks even trying to improve the roster.
It’s not like star swapping helps us.
Ben can’t be on the court with traditional bigs and certainly not with non shooting perimeter players.
He has to have legitimate spacing. A problem we’ve had all season.
We could just improve the roster but this guy just loves his role players. It was clear well before the deadline and the losing but no. Another high profile dysfunctional NY sports team. Easiest build ever. Just refuses and no blames him, which is probably why he refuses. Crowned best GM in the league and the contending chance to prove it..egg.

Yep. I would want out too knowing that Nash is going to play him 40 mins in these home games while Kyrie is at home chilling.
All of this boils down to Kyrie. All of it.
How can you defend quitting on the team?
Who cares if Harden has to carry the load for another week for just home games?
He has **** Kevin Durant.
You think Embiid is the epitome of health? What happens when he gets injured and Harden is stuck carrying the Sixers?
Does he demand a trade somewhere else?

Because Kyrie is basically hanging Harden out to dry when he has to carry this crap roster by himself during home games.
And when we lose because Harden gets swarmed by multiple defenders because he's out there with Brown, Bembry and some rookies, you'll be one of the first people on here calling him a piece of sh*t.

MrDollarBills wrote:Woj has confirmed what most people on here realized days ago: Harden wants out. If you're going to sit here and tell me that Harden and Kyrie are tight like brothers or whatever, that time has passed.
There is no reason to keep Harden here if he wants out. The damage has been done.

I don't think spacing is an issue if Curry is added.
Kyrie | Curry | Durant is a TON of shooting. Add mills or Harris when he gets back and thats GOAT spacing. Simmons would have 2-3 super elite shooters at all times.
Simmons + Kyrie/Durant/Curry or Harris
Simmons + Mills/Curry
Simmons + Harris/Curry
Simmons + KD/Mills
etc. We dont play a traditional center now. I can see lineups where Ben/KD are out "bigs"
Also, I would be SHOCKED if its just a 2 team trade or we dont follow this trade up with another move that fits. We would likely end up with 1-3 picks and someone like Milton that could be re-routed for a SF who fits better. Or even re-routing Simmons for Fox

I'm with Geltzeiler who said the Nets need 2 of Maxey, Curry, Thybulle plus at least 2 picks. Sixers can pick which player they want to keep.
I lay out the following options & let Morey decide what he wants to do:
Harden & Millsap for Simmons+Thybulle+ one 1st +
Option A) Maxey
Option B) Curry + one more 1st (get back Brown & Carter)
Option C) 2 more 1sts
The same fanbase that state the Nets should take anything they can get for Harden have had Ben sitting out all season.
As far as the threat of signing Harden outright goes, the Sixers would need to get to about $76mil in team salary (after cap holds for roster spots & picks) to even get in the Harden ballpark (Harden would still be leaving some money on the table). That means they have to pay whatever it takes to get no salary back for Tobias & Simmons (the thought that teams will give Philly cap space & picks for Simmons is ludicrous) & renounce Green. Harris, while overpaid, is currently a better player than Maxey, Curry or Thybulle. One would think the Sixers are better off with Harris as the third best player than Maxey (who you could argue would be hampered by the presence of Harden) or Curry. I'm not sure why fans are quicker to attach picks to be rid Harris & in turn Green than one or two of Maxey, Curry & Thybulle.
I'm similar:
Baseline: Simmons + 2024 1st. Non-negotiable
Choose 1: Mxey or Curry
Choose 1: Thybule or Korkmax + 2026 1st
Choose 1: Milton, Springer, or 2022 1st
Mills talk ends trade no matter who you add.

The vaccine mandate will never be lifted. Only the mask mandate. Lifting the vaccine mandate is a slap to their faces of millions of NYers who begrudgingly took the shot. The Nets cannot commit long term to Irving if he doesn't get vaccinated.
