Spent some time watching Teodesics last 2 games. Really like that dude. plays with a super high iq and feel for the game... oddly enough the guy i kept coming away think he reminded me of was jeremy lin. hustle/iq/competitiveness... doesnt shy away from the big shots... loves that pull up 3 and hits it. plays alot quicker then he looks and always seems to get that first step.

Would love to sign him.

also watched his exhibition vs the T-wolves from a couple years ago. just preseason but still vs an nba team

I think he could be similar to Lin for us

Would prefer him to these high prices RFAs and would allow the 2 ball handlers together that marks and kenny have saif they'd like to have.

with Lin/Milos/Levert our IQ would be off the chats with unreal passing. and if levert can improve his shooting it would give us 3 guys who can knock it down on the wings.

hope marks delivers and gets this guy here.... similar to Lin he says he wants to play for a team where he can play a big role and a team that knows how to use him. not sure many teams could give him the minutes we can and kennys offense certainly plays to his strengths

Yeah, I'd rather pursue him as well. The only risk of signing Teodosic would be on the defensive side.

ESPN's Fran Fraschilla highly-rates Teodosic, 30, and thinks the Serbian can succeed in the NBA playing for Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson.

"At his age, his stature, he’s going to look for a fit where someone gives him the ball, looks past his deficiencies and lets him play as what he is: one of the premier pick-and-roll players in world," Fraschilla told the New York Post. "I could see him in Kenny’s system. [Atkinson] understands the Euro game, pacing, spacing.

Offensively, he’s the best passer in the world, from a purely offensive standpoint. Chris Paul is a Hall of Famer, but as far as a pure passer, Teodosic might be the most creative passer in the world today. Now, he will not guard a chair, but he’s a brilliant offensive player and an ultra-competitor."

ive only watched 2 full games plus the olympic game and wolves preseason.. but to me he doesnt seem like a bad defender... also gets alot of deflections and steals. hard to say based on such a range of competiion, but no way is he as bad as kilpatrick or bogs. he has quick feet and an elite iq.... makes alot of Lin type defensive plays double teaming as soon as a guy turns his back.

Milos would effectively remove Hill from all conversation it seems like. What about still throwing offer sheets at KCP and Porter then?

I still think getting Millsap would be a great offseasn. Gets us a solid 4 that goes well with Lopez and would thrive with us. Millsap, Teodosic, and 2 first rounders. And still probably have flexible cap space to boot.

Teodosic is simply the best offensive player in Europe, and also, are Nets planning to sign Melli? I'm italian and he had a massive growth every season, really an hard-working guy

Been Watching the Utah series, and I can safely say Hill is not starting SG material, and therefore I don't see us paying (at best) ~10 mil per for a backup PG. I can't believe he turned that contract extension down... going to definitely regret that.

I disagree. He's not having a great game tonight, but he's been solid. Hill plays more off the ball than other PGs, but he's a solid player. And he shoots the 3 at 40%. Shame about Hayward tonight, last game he played his heart out but his team still lost.

Not just this game, in general he doesn't have the next gear against playoff intensity defense. Decent role player but no where near worth the money he's rumored to be commanding

hill isnt worth that max deal... but he is a beast and certainly capable of starting at pg or sg. he is better then anyone on our team currently and would be a great addition money aside.

I think since both Lin and Hill play off the ball well, they'd work out fine together. And Hill is a strong 3-point shooter, something the Nets could use. Congrats to Utah tonight winning without Hayward in the 2nd half and not much of him in the first half.

Doubtful he gets that much. Or even 5 years.

The extension Hill turned down was 3 years and $75 million, with an additional signing bonus of $13 million, that would have been tacked onto his salary from this year, essentially a 3 year $88 million deal.

Iirc, they believe(he and his agent) he will get an absolute minimum of 4/$100 mill and likely higher. My guess is they are hoping/looking for something like 4/$120.

Hill is a great fit here and he's a player who goes beyond his stats, but that's a lot of coin for a player like him, who also has missed a lot of games over his career, including 2 seasons of 40 something games over the last 3 and he's going to be deep into 31 years of age next season.

I'm conflicted on Hill.

He's not going to takeover a game, that's the not the player he is, but he's shooting around 50% from the field and 50% from 3 for the series. He's definitely going to be overpaid, but he's not just a decent role player, he is an elite, top of the league role player.

Nah, he's going to have a 9 figure contract next year, he'll regret nothing.

He is a modern gaurd... a guy you can play on and off the ball and who can gaurd the 1/2/3 spots. he may not rack up assists but he does create a ton for his teammates by spacing the floor, not needing the ball in his hand an always making the right plays.... in these motion offenses, assists are secondary since the ball usually swings 3 or 4 times before a shot is up.

Hill is perfect for the motion offense where you ideally want multiple ball handlers and not necessarily a throwback 10 assist type player...

The Jazz will make the second round of the playoffs this year and there's no way in hell they'll let the Nets swoop their best guard. George Hill will suit up in Salt Lake next season

Never know, if Hayward leaves are they going to just let him walk and blow it up anyway?

And I'm fine with that. Get Milos for maybe 3/$35 mill with the 3rd year a team option and pass on Hill.

Otto Porter is a pipe dream imho. Washington will lock him up on a full 5 year before he even hits the market and it would behoove him to ink that offer, what's his other option, get a much smaller offer sheet for 4 years from us and get matched anyway?

KCP is a possibility, Detroit might not match, but I hope they do, I'd cringe if we land him, that contract would be gross for a mediocre 1 position player.

I could dig Millsap, I'd be a little surprised though if he doesn't land somewhere like Chicago, or Atlanta does what they almost always do and ink their own guy for the full 5 at max.

To me the most realistic free agent options in no order are:

George Hill
Milos
Reddick
PJ Tucker
Gallo
Jeff Teague
Taj Gibson
Amir Johnson
Nerlens Noel
A trade for someone like Rudy Gay, Brandon Knight, Tyson Chandler, Wilson Chandler or Faried

So is Lin. and lopez is a one way player who prevents you from playing team defense. we have 0 allstars on this team. saying hill is an upgrade is no insult

Lin is a top5 PG, Lopez is a top 5 center. Hills probably in like the ~15 range for PG's.

For reference PG list IMO (hopefully I don't forget any notables)

1. Curry
2. Harden
3. Westbrook
4. Wall
5. Lin
6. Conley
7. Paul
8. IT
9. Irving
10. Dragic
11. Schroder
12. Lowry
13. Rubio
14. Hill
15. Holiday
16. Walker
