Ever see a group of girls and there's always the one who one of the homies has to take one for the team for. The Knicks are the take one for the team.

You have 4 occurrences. 3 result in poor results and the other results in extremely good results. That 4th result will skewe the overall data and manipulate it to counter the 3 poor results. That's why I'm saying he's not be playing well outside the one game vs Memphis he shot the ball very well. Which one is more likely to explain the trend. The 3 poor results or 1 good one.
Your analysis is all over the place. If you're making a qualitative assertion you shouldn't be throwing around quantitative analysis words like "outlier." I'd need to run the numbers but at a glance I'm fairly positive last night's game was more of a statistical outlier than any other so far by almost any measures. You could probably find one where it wasn't. I don't care. He had a very bad game last night. In any event, the idea of throwing out any data at this point in the season... is nonsensical.
You do know what an outlier is correct?
A poster said he's playing well and posted his stats. I showed that the stats are misleading because one game is skewing his average. He's playing terrible to start the year. Period. It's only nonsense when it comes to KP is the biggest issue. The fan base isn't holding him accountable.
It's too little data to determine what the outlier is. He's got 1 horrible game, 1 great game, and 2 mediocre games. Based on that sample size you'd throw out the top and bottom, but again if you do that, then the Knicks are winless.
Honestly that's preferred scenario. Let them be horrible, and get a top 3 pick.

y'all do realize a lot of why the defense suck is cause of scheme right? Lee already said they are practicing against the Triangle. The minute that stops, the knicks will improve. Yall need to stop thinking we going to be that bad. The teams that do super bad and get top 5 picks are devoid of talent. We are not that.

Pretty tight data here. No outlier for rebounds so far.
So, no I haven't run the numbers to figure out where the standard deviations lie. But, at a glance, it's pretty clear that last night's game was the least typical out of the 4 he played.

Lettuce be reality hear, Phil was hired to convince Melo to stay, because Dolan wants to keep the ticket price up, and there's no way to justify the prices without a big name like Carmelo.

Dolan does NOT need Melo to keep the ticket prices up. These are the Knicks. People will pay that regardless. Dolan is not hurting for bread at all. Melo does not add that much money to the Knicks tickets. Knicks was selling tickets and sellouts WITHOUT stars.

Best thing about this season if eventually something good will come. Either a playoff series or a lottery pick. But either way we we have a pick.

Listen Professor Capn'O
Sark put it best in that both his best and worst games can be seen as outliers. I'll leave it at that. 1 good game, 2 mediocre and 1 poor. He'll hopefully get better soon.

Re: Knicks-Rockets PG: Who didn't see this coming?
I honestly feel like even if this team were to play up to the best they could play they still wouldn't win a championship this year. Then next year Melo is a year older and Noah is a year older. Idk I just love what the Lakers, Wolves and the Celtics have done, even the Sixers with the draft. They're all building young and through the draft.
You build up with a good group of talented young players and let them grow with each other. I wished the Knicks would do that too.

Phil F'ed up for sure, but he was handed a team that had no picks, no talent and was forced to build around a coach killing black hole that doesn't play a lick of defense. For as much as Phil may suck, Dolan is without a shadow of a doubt, the biggest disgrace to professional sports I have ever seen.

Re: Knicks-Rockets PG: Who didn't see this coming?
So this is how Knicks fans act when there are couple of bad games in season start. Blame sophomore for not playing well. Yes, his defense could be better, he could make some open 3s here and there, but both times Knicks lost miserably were to players who single handedly carried their teams in all aspects.
Lebron did what he wanted and involved everyone and Harden did what he wanted and involved everyone. What does Melo and Rose do? One drive to the basket all the time and other tries to "school" Morris twin. That is sad as ****.
KP have said it many many times that team success is first then it's him. He is no **** who wants to mess up team chemistry. While we all want him to be a little one, it might take time and games as such for him to say something to two of the leaders of this team.

This team could be Shumpert, Grant/Hardaway, Early, Porzingis, Willy, Thanasis and Baker right now.
Very good young core

My point was they would've had this mindset years ago and I'm sure things would go different. It's a great way to build a team.
