Gravy apparently thinks playing guys 48 minutes against the Wiz in December is the same thing as doing it to avoid going down 3-1 in the playoffs. That boy is remedial.
And how many times do yall bring up Thibs playing Derrick Rose 40+ minutes in the playoffs. If Luka gets injured now I guess it was just an unrelated random beer accident

Your ability to compare situations that aren't the same and form strawmen off them is pretty impressive.
Luka or LeBron gets a serious wear related injury (lower body, non-freak accident) JJ is going to be crucified.
Having said that, the whole minutes police issue has multiple facets:
a) more playing time means more dice rolls for a freak injury to happen. Risk vs reward, is 1 win really worth increased risk over time of a player having a freak injury?
b) long minutes means that either you can drain your guys by also having tough practices OR you can have light practices wherein your reserves don't get actual training. The opposite of "stay ready and you won't have to get ready"
c) playoffs pretty much every game in monumental. Maybe if you are up 2-0 and it's not a challenging series (Magic, Heat) you can have guys sitting who under dire straits could play. Otherwise it's all hands and whatever it takes.
d) long regular season minutes + long playoff minutes again increases chance of wear related injuries. Since playoffs is a MUST, the idea is to tone it down regular season.
