Imagine that was Thibs

And JJ did it with Old Man LeBron, sick Luka, soft-ass Rui and AR and injury prone Finney Smith

Minutes police when other coaches play starters heavy minutes

1. The idea is keeping players healthy _for the playoffs_.
2. Why would anyone here worry about JJ burning his players out. That's their problem.

Gravy apparently thinks playing guys 48 minutes against the Wiz in December is the same thing as doing it to avoid going down 3-1 in the playoffs. That boy is remedial.

JJ is an analytic guy. I assume he looked at the numbers and said his bench sucks. Personally, there ain't no way LeBron or Luka didn't agree with him. LeBron would've pulled himself out.

Why is that officer shaking Luka's hand?

And how many times do yall bring up Thibs playing Derrick Rose 40+ minutes in the playoffs. If Luka gets injured now I guess it was just an unrelated random beer accident

What Knick fans would say that?
JJ got the job because he is LeBrons buddy and will play Bronny in regular season games.

He may develop into a being a good coach, but he and LeBron are co-coaches at this point any how.

Your ability to compare situations that aren't the same and form strawmen off them is pretty impressive.

Send OG for picks that go to MIL and send Mitch and swaps

Unless they want OG

That would work … not KAT even if they would take him

Luka or LeBron gets a serious wear related injury (lower body, non-freak accident) JJ is going to be crucified.

Having said that, the whole minutes police issue has multiple facets:
a) more playing time means more dice rolls for a freak injury to happen. Risk vs reward, is 1 win really worth increased risk over time of a player having a freak injury?
b) long minutes means that either you can drain your guys by also having tough practices OR you can have light practices wherein your reserves don't get actual training. The opposite of "stay ready and you won't have to get ready"
c) playoffs pretty much every game in monumental. Maybe if you are up 2-0 and it's not a challenging series (Magic, Heat) you can have guys sitting who under dire straits could play. Otherwise it's all hands and whatever it takes.
d) long regular season minutes + long playoff minutes again increases chance of wear related injuries. Since playoffs is a MUST, the idea is to tone it down regular season.

None of this should need an explanation but, people just hang on to their positions no matter how ridiculous they are. It's not worth the keystrokes.

You can't really argue with a dude that points to Joel Embiid or Lonzo Ball as a way to justify overplaying players and protect Thibs. It's kinda like saying, Amare Stoudemire punched a fire extinguisher and hurt himself, and tomorrow, Jalen Brunson might decide to punch one too, so might as well play him 48 minutes against the tanking Nets.

Trading for old guys is risky. Don’t trade for KD.

Honestly, I don't think I would care much. Giannis needs players around him. He needs a center who can do center things and shoot. Claxton ain't it. Does BroPez travel with him? It would be another complete overhaul of the roster.

Miami could make a deal and have a core of Giannis, Herro, Bam. That would be a problem.
