Speaking of Timberwolves set to become RFAs. We should sign Juan Hernangómez. I think we could steal him from Minnesota as originally he was meant to be a comp piece in the Beasley trade.
The kid played the best basketball of his career when he got starter minutes in Minn. I know this is a small sample size, but in the 14 games he started in Minnesota, he put up 12.9/7.3/1.3 on a 45.3% shooting from the field and 42% from deep. Will be 25 this season, and he wasn't total liability on D like some of the other stretch 4's on the market. We need shooting, and scoring. Why not want someone who fits the timeline of RJ, and Mitch instead of someone that's too old (Gallo, Mook) and will come cheaper than players entering/have a few years left in the primes of their career (Bertans). He will definitely come cheaper because of how he played in Denver last year (which was really bad), but he has always been a player that has played worse with less minutes on the court. I def think he could be a 15/8 guy as a starter or sixth man and would be a good fit in between RJ and Mitch for a long time. As a starter he really good shooter, good rebounder, smart team defender, decent post defender (could be average if he gets stronger). Maybe he had a case of contract-year-itis, and just played the best basketball he will ever play for those 14 games to get some mula. Bet we could steal him for around 8-13 Mil on a 3 year pact.
Only reason I want him more than Wood is, Wood is going to get a hefty offer from Detroit. No one wants to go there as a FA, and they traded Drummond to get him playing time. Idk if we should get into that sweepstakes.
