No.

Melo isn't worth Gallo, Chandler, Moz, Fields, Felton, AR, picks, money, the 53rd and 6th chicken cart and 2 popcorn vendors.

So the Nyets pulled out because the price was too high and the deal became public. Naturally, the right step to re-engage them is by leaking the THIRD round of negotiations. Makes complete sense to me. : /

Sorry, to clarify: The exec was ranking odds of getting Melo: 1) Nets, 2) Nuggets, 3) Knicks, 4) Everyone else.

I'm really scratching my head now.

I think allot of people are just tired of this crap he wants money fine everyone wants that but the nuggets are being extremely unrealistic but they are tired of this crap

There's nothing mysterious about it. It's the same lame tactic used during the summer with LeBron. It's one big publicity stunt that every media outlet is in on. Fans are just dumb enough to feed into it and increase ratings web hits etc.

Some of you need to realized it is Melo's job to get Melo here.

If he wasn't being such a pu$$y about this, it would be a different ballgame right now.

I really can't wait until this is over. The sad thing is this will never end, any free agent or big trade will turn in to a circus with twitter and social networking now.

Let them get Melo, we'll get CP3/D-Will and Howard.

CP3 is not coming here without Melo.

Doubt Dwight leaves Orlando either and if he does it will probably be to become a Laker.

Outside shot of Deron unless Dallas sorts out a way to get him so he can go back to Texas.

Your choice, Melo. Either upgrade a playoff team or waste your prime in the shadow of Madison Square Garden

Yup only a delusional fan would think that. Melo is the key chip in everything not hard to figure out.

Source: Nets and Nuggets Have “Barely Talked”
BY MYLES A. MILLS ON FEB 16, 2011, 7:34 PM

A source close to the New Jersey Nets organization has informed TKB that the Nets and Nuggets have “just started talking a little bit in the past day or two.” He also expresses the general consensus around the league, that the Nuggets will “eventually reach out to them [Nets] again.”

This information comes after various reports described talks between the two teams as “progressive,” but the source referred to them as “nothing serious at all yet.” The source still expects Carmelo Anthony to end up a Knick via trade.

So the question is: Are the talks between the Nets and Nuggets merely “exploratory,” possibly a ploy to acquire more via a trade with the Knicks or are they something substantial, maybe a favoring of the Nets package? I would firmly believe it’s the former option, but could Donnie Walsh’s patience possibly hurt the Knicks approaching the trade deadline? Or do the Knicks firmly have the leverage in the situation and have no reason to rush, sentiments echoed when Tommy and I discussed Melo on TKB.tv?

This is just beyond ridiculous now. 2 days ago it was "Chicago jumping into the talks", then "Dallas will keep Melo out of NY", and now "NJ jumps back into talks".

This $hit is old already!!

sounds to me like no deal

So you're admitting if we gut the team we will be bad?

no im not opposed to gutting the team, this is a 500 club, there really isnt much more upside than that (individual upside, maybe...but as a team not much more than 500)...so yea Id get melo no questions asked

no, its the teams job to get him here....he has given them 7 months to do so...if it was the players jobs to get themselves to teams, why are NY wasting $ on employing 4 ex gms?

and i dont understand why people are mad if melo wants his $$, thats the only reason amare is here, to get his $$, so why cant melo get his too?

I think we can all agree that it truly is a blessing that our GM is so old that he doesn't even know about 95% of these bullsh*t rumors.

Donnie says, "What the hell is a twitter?"
