A team with Bobby Shmurda running point ain’t beating us.

You can’t stop the 3’s. Literally everyone in the rotation except Chandler shoots 3’s.

It’s snowing.

Made a couple of questionable moves this past offseason for sure - (cp3 trade for sure  ) but after hitting with the big 3 last season, wanted to see what a team built around defense, depth, and balanced offense could do...and feel like I built a damn good squad.

Too early to celebrate, Detroit is a tough, balanced squad as well - still gotta close it out

What needs to happen next season:

1. Moving on to a more civilized platform like 2k cuz sim is shİt. Someone like 3toheadmelo could be The Gamemaster and ease the load of Bish. Gotta hope player ratings are updated even still in custom rosters, I am guessing that will replace sim injuries with real life injuries which I dont see as a problem at all. Right now there are 2 ways you get screwed, injury real life since it will affect ratings later and on top of that sim injuries which screws you over, double chance of a blow. We gotta decide if we want real life performances of players affecting the game like a fantasy basketball game or not, I might have misinterpret the whole game at first since everyone was sharing real life performances of players

2. Something to be done with rookies. Easiest solution is making team option +5 years, maybe not exercised all at once, like +3, +2 / +2, +2, +1 or even +1,+1,+1.. Right now there is literally no incentive to invest in young, undeveloped, not ready yet players and be patient with them. I want to build something from the ground up but players would be entering free agency too soon so basically impossible and you will be pushed to invest in ready win now players than young players waiting for their development. Its exactly why I overlooked players like Knox last draft and plan to do same again. Plus second round pick salaries need to be adjusted, no reason to be wasting $$$ when you can get undrafted players, free agents for a $ instead. If I had a second round pick, hell maybe even a first round pick, I would like it to be forfeited since I can get much better deal in off-season or in season where rotation players emerge that you can get for a $ instead of putting $$$ on players who forget being rotation players have only a chance to be rotation players

Thanks to Bish for putting in the work and good luck to teams still fighting it out in playoffs

• I do not want real life injuries effecting the SIM

• Extensions or team options definitely need to be figured out for players on rookie scale deals

• Agree that draft slot salaries are overpriced

I think sim is fine and only change should be if it's quality of life stuff for Bish to make it easier, otherwise if this is preferred, **** it. I don't think the double whammy stuff is a huge deal at all unless you own somebody like Wall or Cousins or something.

Agreed about the picks. Running a similar game on another forum (thanks to Bish) and the 2nd round pick stuff was a pretty big deal and nobody made trades for them because they pointed out a similar flaw in how having a 2nd round pick was kind of a curse. Ended up doing picks 31-38 at $6, 2 years and 39-69 at $1, 2 years.

Couple things because I'm on my way out the door to my sons baseball game and then AAU practice...

First, not sure what the objection is to the sim? The standings were very close to the preseason power rankings that some GM's submitted. Of course there were a few teams that surprised and a few that disappointed but that happens IRL every year also. Overall, I think that the teams that most people would think were the top teams, ended up being the top teams while the teams that finished in the lottery, finished in the lottery. Also, when you look at the stats (leaderboards), the players on them, are the same ones who are on the IRL leaderboards. So if the sim gets the standings and the individual stats close enough to real life, not sure what else people would ask for? Of course it isn't perfect and I'm not a 2K guy at all so if you all want to go in another direction, then feel free.

Secondly, as far as the injuries go...I would say that the injuries are random and with them toned down this year to 70%, much more realistic. Look at total games lost due to injury and the real NBA players missed more time then the sim players IMO. I don't think that you should take injuries completely out of the game and I don't see why you would base them on real life injuries at this time. As far as the "double hit" teams get when a player gets injured, I don't see it. We only have one year to go on, but I would say it's fake news that players who suffer IRL injuries (Cousins, Wall) will suffer in the next sim season. The proof of that is just looking at the sim seasons that Porzingis and Hayward had this year. Of course, its possible that next years sim players get rated differently but at least for one season, that wasn't the case.

Next...I have an idea on how to incorporate extensions for players drafted that I think is fair. I worked on it throughout the season but didn't want to post it because, quite honestly, participation in the discussion threads were pretty dead throughout the year (other then deadline time). There were only a handful of GMs who actively participated, I wasn't sure if that was due to a lack of interest or what but I didn't want to submit anything so big until the time was right. So, my idea for extensions will be published next week right after the lottery when we will hopefully have more people on the discussion thread actively participating.

Finally, rookie contracts...first round picks are making exactly what real life rookie first rounders are making in proportion to our salary cap. I worked all the math to make sure that they are making the same exact percentage that real teams are paying their first rounders. Second rounders don't have salary slots IRL, so I used a sliding scale that decreased as the pick lowered. Since everyone feels that those picks salaries are to high, the start of that scale can be brought down a bit. I will look into that before the draft.
All-Time Draft

SG- Earl Monroe/James Harden/Dana Barros
SF- Billy Cunningham/Michael Finley/Chet Walker
PF- Elvin Hayes/Dolph Schayes/Tom Chambers/Danny Manning
