It wasn't the benching of Noah that was the x factor, it was the hounding defense of Holiday that made all the difference. The way he clamped down on Barnes was magnificent. The Mavs are small and not a physical team, this was a great adjustment from Hornacek. Carmelo abused Mathews in the 2nd half. Our guard play was awful tonight, Rose, Jennings and Courtney Lee all had bad nights.

Porzingis was aggressive and I loved the 6 free throws, been wanting him to earn more trips to the line. I liked how active he was in crashing boards, need more of that from him.

I also liked Maurice NDour. He is an active defender and knows how to make quick rotations and close outs.

But man Justin Holiday was awesome

Ugly first half but I liked the way we came together in the 2nd half and got a much needed win

You really don't think that coincided with benching Noah? Why do you think Hornacek did it? Why do you think Melo feasted, both shooting and passing the ball after that happened? Why do you think Justin Holiday was wide open on those shots?

Hornacek did it to slow down Barnes. It really wouldn't have mattered who played at the 5, KP, Noah, Willy, it was Holiday who made the difference. Melo was about to go off in the 3rd quarter regardless, you can just tell by the ugly first half that he had that he was about to go off in the 2nd half. KP didn't start doing his offensive damage until the Knicks took back control of the game that was lead by the defense of Holiday and offense of Melo. Who played the 5 was really not the deciding factor of this game. It was a great adjustment by Hornacek.

We'd have to be real, real bad to get him...

I'm willing to bet we could get one of him, malik monk, or de'arron fox.

That I can live with

There's just more space for Melo to work with when he's at the 4. KP can anchor the defense and use his length. Rose/Jennings should also thrive off the attention. Holiday and Lee fit anywhere. Noah can still play a big role.

Part of the problem is who we have that has size.

It's the fact that it's Joakim that's being played that's a problem.

He just flat out sucks as a basketball player. It's almost like playing 4-on-5 on both offense AND defense.

Phil made that bed. He has to lie in that 16m bed.

You'd so but there's so many PGs in this draft we'll have a legit shot even late in the lotto. That is unless he kills it at UCLA and so far he's ight.

Start KP and see how he does. If he looks overwhelmed, then adjust and bring in Noah.

I'd like to see drummond chasing KP around the 3pt line.

Remember that game Bargnani shut down Dwight Howard. KP will be fine at the 5 in this new era.

I wish I could only support a player when they're doing well and beg to trade them the second they're not.
