If we had a chance to get KD, Ki and AD while giving up No 3, 2 Dallas picks, Knox, DSJ, Frank and Mitch, we should be ecstatic.BBALLER4FR wrote:If we haven't come to the point of realizing tanking no longer works, then we deserve another 2 decades of turmoil. Even if Durant/Kyrie have change of hearts and we are a bad team next year, our '20 pick next year means nothing when teams like LAL, Mem, and Pels can just dart 6/7 spots up the board. And if we get Durant and Kyrie but decide against getting AD because we don't want to give up Barrett and next years pick (not the Dallas picks) then, again, you deserve this broken franchise. The only decision we'd need to make, assuming both KD and Kyrie are on board, is do we package Mitch in an AD trade or the Mavs pick(s). We'd be a playoff team so our pick means nothing. Do we put our faith in Mitchell Robinson OR KP bringing about the immediate demise of the Mavericks franchise? That's our choices this offseason.
The only issue I have with this is I would give up Mitch OR the Mavs pick(s), NOT both. We have to maintain some sense of dignity and keep something. Our entire youth, Barrett, next years 1st (we'll be playoff bound anyway) and ONE OF Mitch or Mavs pick(s). I don't want to keep the Knicks '20 pick because it becomes a late rounder and I'd prefer AD, and I'd prefer to keep Mitch than go college watching with the Mavs pick only to watch the Orlando Magic or Charlotte Hornets zoom up the board in some likely even Dallas falters and hands over a top 10 pick. Some people live for that type of offseason drama, Not me.
