Phil is not the coach. He's hardly around them to do that successfully.

Depends on what he was looking to accomplish. KP is certainly revealing his character, that's for sure.

So is Phil.
He insults his hand picked players and coaches in a backhanded manner and then dips for weeks.

The fuq?

I don't know about going great, even if you're a glass half full fan. That's the reason I quoted you. There is just so many negatives and the needless drama never stops.

Can we be a normal franchise for an extended period of time?

We love it the hard way baby

It didn't have to be this way. The plan was simple.

Maybe depends on your priorities or what you value more, I have been longing so much for a front office that value draft whole my life its all rainbows for me atm, take on Evan Turner and picks over signing PJ Tucker and Dante Cunningham

I never said he will, I never said he won't. What Phil has done is inexcusable and he's been atrocious as a GM. Fact is, neither you, NOR I know how Mills will do as a GM. If he signs a player to the worst deal in the NBA and keeps all of his first round picks, congrats, he's done just as good a job as Phil. If he doesn't sign a player to a bad deal and keeps his picks, he's done better.

Fact is, Phil has been **** and needs to go.

While we're dealing with facts, let's accept the fact that Mills's is Dolan's guy and, while, we don't know how he'll do as a POBO, him being so easily influenced by Dolan isn't a good sign

Can we also accept the fact that Dolan has stayed out of basketball decisions for years now? Mills being Dolan's guy means nothing in terms of being a FO executive if Dolan stays out, and there is no reason to believe otherwise given recent history and how he's tried to stay out of the media for years. In addition, if anything, being Dolan's guy might give him a longer leash so we can have a proper rebuild, which is something Phil has half-assed since day 1.

Dolan has stayed out of it for years because Phil has autonomy in his contract. So you're indirectly crediting Phil's contractual parameters for keeping Dolan out.

Further, why would Dolan give his guy a longer leash when he's hired his guys in the past and pressured them when he felt it was necessary? We were both watching during the Isiah years and no examples are needed. Dolan's guys probably feel indebted to Dolan to do what he says because he signs their checks and controls their livlihood.

I agree Phil has half assed the rebuild. But we still have flexibility and while everyone who hates Phil pisses on the fact that we have our picks, we do. We have the opportunity to get a good player and team him with KP, or trade KP and pair the return with number 8. Is it ideal? Fck no. Is it what Phil planned? Again, fck no. But aside from the circus, it's not impossible to turn it around if we get a good player in the draft.

Do I want Phil to stay? Nope. He's embarrassed himself. But I'm not confident with Mills because he's going to do what Dolan says. The devil I know is better than the devil I don't at this point.

As far as the circus goes, we're the knicks. It'll always be a circus. Our team has to put it's head down and win
WTF Post of 2017:

If Phil pulled that off, I would put a put a paper bag over my head, paste a picture of Jeannie on it, poke a hole through the mouth, and give Phil the best BJ he's ever had in his entire life.[/quote]

everybody's character takes a hit on the knicks. courtney lee was the consummate professional. now he's calling people dumb and dumber on instagram. it brings it out of you. if you're in the circus, you might become a clown.

Honestly, it sounds like 59 minutes of fluff and KP saying "I had my reasons" for 1 minute.

Scintillating stuff

Read on Twitter

Phil cajoled and needled all of his star players. He has more rings than anyone. He wanted to know what these guys were made of. We all found out.

I think we found out more about who PJax is than the players.

I wanted it to work. He's getting near Zeke levels with the circus stuff. Let's hope we clean this up

The circus fires are stoked by the press, and fed on by folks that can't unplug from time to time. By folks that post the same few sentences over and over and over and over.....and over again.

We're all a part of the circus. Complicit. This atmosphere predates the current regime but not the current crop of reporters.

KP is surely not the most accomplished Latvian athlete in the game atm with Jelena Ostapenko winning Roland Garros 20 years old

By ESPN or by Woj on behalf of ESPN? He works for them now right? He dropped that tweet right before the promos hit.

I think it'll stay the same because Dolan didn't like feeling the wrath of Knicks fans. It's very possible he enjoys being out of the spotlight.

He'd give a longer leash because "he's his guy" and because he knows to stay out of basketball decisions now. I don't think he feels indebted at all, but what you and I think is meaningless.

Keeping picks means nothing. Congrats, he did something not stupid. I'm sorry but that deserves no credit.

Maybe Dolan will hire someone actually worth his paycheck. We don't know. I'd rather role the dice and I've never gambled at all in my life.
