The only way Carmelo gets traded after the deadline for anything of value is if accepts the final year of his offer, and then Denver trades him.
Note, we wouldn't have Curry's deal to send back. So we'd have to send enough salary back to make it fit under the cap (Gallo would work). This scenario seems highly unlikely.
