No trade is happening today/tonight. Woj already said it will take weeks.

I say keep as many picks as you can and trade any player they ask for.

Plus, Are we ther yet is the greatest username of all time
If it’s 4 of our own and 2 of the protected picks from other teams that’s pretty steep. But it does still leave us with 2 additional picks from the other teams.
if we traded our 2023, 2025, 2027, 2029, we could still keep the Mavs 2023 top 10 protected pick, our own 2024, the bucks top 3 protected 2025 pick, our own 2026, our own 2028, essentially leaving us without a pick only in 2027 and 2029. worst case scenario.
Maybe they go 3 and 3. We trade 2023, 2025, 2027, and keep the Mavs 2023 pick trading the other 3. So we still have a Mavs 2023 pick, and our own in 2024, so 2025 and 2027 we are out
Basically if we trade 6 picks there should only be 2 drafts where we don’t have any first round pick
In a way that sounds okay, but I’m such a deal you’re always just a single torn ACL from looking like the greatest fool ever. I don’t know, six FRPs sounds unheard of.
Let’s hope they can negotiate it down to 4 or 5 picks. In those scenarios we may still have a pick every year or just one season where we don’t have a pick. Not too bad

The Knicks are not bidding against their stockpiles of picks and youth, just because they have it doesn't mean that it has to be included or be the reason for increasingly better offers if no other team can offer anything close to it. Ainge will want to get the overpay and not just by a little, he wants to embarrass them in the process because he's a petty little man.
This also means that if the Knicks offer 5 assets while the next best team can only offer 4 they don't have to add another to make it 6 under the guise that the last 1 isn't a reason to stop the trade. Then if Ainge wants 7 assets, 'well, will that one stop you from getting Spida!!!!!!!!!!!' Now 8... well, will that 1 blah blah blah... it never ends with that reasoning.
Rose needs to be able to just walk away if Ainge is negotiating in bad faith. This is pretty much the epic battle between the player to exec model of FO versus the agent to exec model of FO.
Rose has to be prepared to do the walkout...

Rose has to walkout at some point and call the deal off if Ainge is behaving like an anus.

And the whole "we gotta maintain good relations around the league" was a bs excuse. The dude got paid like crazy and admitted that his time in NY was just a party phase and he didn't take it seriously.
The players union was legit watching the sitch and made it known. Maybe the Knicks could've taken them on and won , but I doubt it
No they weren't. 3 different sour '16s didn't play, Noah wasn't even practicing and was just smoking all day. Where was the player's union with Parsons? John Wall this past year. That's agent bull and if your front office isn't good enough to navigate it (ours wasn't) they should all be fired.
I'll provide a link later cuz im on my phone but a players rep legit said they were watching the sitch after he got sat down the previous season

Then it's a ta-ta from Utah lol
Realistically, Grimes is in in this deal. He's on a long term rookie contract and Utah likes him apparently.
RJ won't be included. Utah doesn't want to pay. And I will go as far to say they don't want (or don't highly value) IQ or Obi as they are due for contract extensions in 2 years.
Fournier, Rose, Grimes, 4 unprotected first is what Knicks will negotiate. Ainge and Utah will want 6 picks. Maybe they will meet at 5, but I don't know.

Of course the player unions is going to have the players back in this case. But end of the day, the player has to put the work in which Noah clearly wasn't.
We didn't stretch Kanter. We benched him and he expressed disapproval of that, but we didn't care.
This is still a business and a competitive team. Stretching Noah hurt the Knicks deeply.

If it’s your players and the 5 picks then I’m in.
We still have tradeable assets down the line if we were desperate to find a FRP somewhere else.
Most probably Randle at some point brings you back the 5th pick you traded.
