I’d be kind of iffy on it. The only player I can see the Knicks moving up for is LaMelo. And LaMelo is overrated as ****. But if we want a highly ranked player, I’m sure they’ll be a few in the top 6. It may be worth it, if it’s cheap.
Maybe something along the lines of
To MIN:8th, 27th, 21’ Dallas Mavs Pick (Top-10 protected), Kevin Knox, Damyean Dotson
To NYK: 1st OV pick.

Then MIN will have 8th, 17th, 27th, 33rd. Can draft guys around KAT & D’Lo. Kevin Knox can wind up being a quality player for Minnesota with a lot open looks. And Minn could add 3-point shooters like Vassell, then fill in the roster with others.
Lol I did all of this and looked at how brutal Edwards and Ball’s percentages are, oh boy.
MIN has roster crowding issues already, with 18 players for 15 spots, so I don’t think they’d do a 1-for-4 trade.
I’m not sure on value either. Right now, I see tiers between 1-3, 4-6 (as you mention), 7-?, so I’m not sure #8 and pieces is going to do it. In every draft, the #1 pick carries marketing value that sells tickets and excitement to a forelorn franchise. His name and picture leads off stories on draft night, one of the NBA’s most visible nights among casual fans. MIN could use that (Edwards fits fine), but with the major roster changes at the deadline, and the fans not getting to see it because of Covid, they may still keep fans interested if they trade. Plus, if it’s true that there is mutual interest between the Knicks front office and Ball, it helps the brand if the headline after the draft is, “Ball is #1 pick, Makes Dreams Come True.”
Have there been any leaks in the last two weeks, about Knicks interest in Ball? I think he has the highest ceiling, but his floor is lower than Edwards. I’m not sure how to evaluate Wiseman. Or was the Knicks front office interest in LaMelo overstated?
