While the fact that Melo's dad is dead is obviously sad and rightly the kind of thing that should make such talk off limits my focus was on the racist undertone. I think it was very clear what he meant by talking about them having money and not having fathers. It was very clear to me that you had a racist pig playing on a stereotype that his bigoted mind can't get around. I think the real problem is that George Karl has a planation owner's mindset but he was only ever an overseer and the slaves are of way more value. He should have coached at Dartmouth or somewhere where his biases wouldn't have inhibited his ability to do his job correctly.
