It would also take away minutes from Shumpert which im not thilled with. Unless we are considering crawford to come off the bench and handle the ball and bibby leaves the rotation shumpert at the backup 2 and then fields shifts to the 3 with the second unit?

New York has several options as they decide how to spend the $2.5 million exception. They have reached out to Jamal Crawford, Maurice Evans and Shawne Williams in recent days.. .... The only way Crawford can return to New York is by signing for $2.5 million, which is significantly less than what other teams have offered. Crawford played with Knicks’ assistant general manager Allan Houston and has been coached by Mike D’Antoni and Mike Woodson in the past. Sources close to Crawford say it’s unlikely he’ll sign for the room exception.

yeah. a couple of us had the same thought process. who do we have on the bench ? jeffries, jordan, jorts and guards. are jordan and jorts even gonna play ? if jamal is here, i see a lot of going small in our future.

Absolutely agree. People are impatient (and who can blame them we've been bad for forever), but Crawford is a quintessential 'act now, pick up the pieces later' move. A team with as little depth as we have cannot waste its exceptions on one-and-done players. Unless it's really going to put us over the top this year (it's not), I don't see the point.
