Leon moving more like Michael Corleone in Godfather II than the Don in Godfather I.
Mikal going the way of Fredo, after Don Leon disposed of Thibs (Hyman Roth)
Memphis not moving JJJ for Mikal.

They will and you'll like it.

If Kat can be utilized better with a new coach, trading for KD straight up would be a grave mistake. KD is very old and could be cooked very soon.
Im leaning this way too. Though a healthy uncooked KD is still a stud no doubt. But I think its a much riskier play. For Bridges Hart Mitch Im all for it...but not KAT
kat had a great season.. there’s nothing else to unlock about him.. he’s 29 years old

He had a borderline all-star regular season and a pretty solid first two rounds of the playoffs... I gather we could get 1 solid youngster and a pick... or two solid role players for him. But he still has value to these Knicks... he's a good all around bench player... he's best friends with Brunson our best player... and he seems like a solid locker room guy. I don't mind keeping him if he's 25 minutes off the bench of havoc energy.
Yeah he is on a solid contract, super energy and many winning plays and intangibles, still in his prime and good character and loves it here. I really don't think trading him would be beneficial. Utilized in the right line-ups and off the bench he will be a great asset.
I think due to his shooting deficiencies teams would be more reluctant to give up something good...we are better just keeping him around IMO. We already lost a lot of grit with DD and partly Randle gone...I really would not want to lose more grit with Hart traded.

That’s fair but low-key I think everything said is why he is the best option they have to correct the lineup of the plan is to keep KAT and Brunson. I legit think we could get a decent haul for him and if Mitch is the starting Center then move KAT to PF, OG to SF and Bridges to SG, next to Brunson.
They are paying him starter money and he isn’t a good fit starting next to Brunson and KAT when either Mitch or McBride fit better.

Mikal, Hart, and Robinson and our 2026 1st unprotected for JJJ and Bane. Memphis gets their major defensive uplift around JaMorant. And Bridges is much more effective as the 2nd or 3rd option. Trading for Divo would be an absolute bonus.

Thats why Boston should not trade him.
Assuming Tatum comes back healthy in 2026/27, Boston will be a contender again with Tatum, Brown, White and Pritchard. And Kornet, off couse...
They should try to dump Jrue and KP this season.

Yup. Trading for superstars at the very tail end of their career for the decline is same ol' knicks. Terrifying that they are thinking about moving multiple dudes in their prime for 36 year old KD.
I dont believe they are thinking about it...
