So, back to giving a good amount of assets for Mitchell, who clearly makes them better, but not so many that there isn't some left over that they have some semblance of depth after the trade and all the picks aren't gone (just how few left depends)
They want to make sure they are able to still make a trade in a couple of years. That means holding onto enough picks so they’re not hamstrung by the Stepien rule. Probably also wanna hold onto the 2029 pick so they’d have that available to trade along with a 2031 pick 2 years from now. They know that Donovan‘s not the finishing piece
