But it's not like we gave up the future with this move. What value did a one year Randle have around the league just have to ask yourself that? And its not like a situation where you just want Randle to expire either with the new cap structure either since we can replace the contract.
It has its risk but the Randle situation was also risky. They are pretty similar player IMO but KAT is more efficient and can play some more 5 so the fit is better imo.
i don't think you'll get out of it though for the next 4 years if it doesn't work. that's the future you gave up. i agree that randle is not worth much. he was salary filler more than anything in this. but this is a guy who puts up numbers and is an all-star and the best they could get for him is donte divincenzo and a pick that will probably never convey. and he is gonna make like 55 a year now. not sure he'll have any value soon.
