Well, he just likes to see fatties and middle aged men lumber up the court.

How the hell does any of that translate into the operation of running a NBA team and having FINANCIAL flexibility in the face of a massive luxury tax related DIRECTLY to basketball operations? I would like him back but the money is CRAZY...
The financial flexibility has been thrown out the door a long time ago.
Last time I checked Melo, Tyson, STATue, Camby and Kidd all come off the books at the same time. Did something change? I get it, people love Lin. But matching this and getting hammered by the luxury tax may be too much.

Potential is not part of the equation, we are in win now mode.
He said felton downgrades our chances at winning which is not possible if he played better than Lin in NY.
You're missing the point... he proved he can be that player. And for us to WIN NOW we needed him to be that player or find someone who can of which there are only two of.
I don't get how that relates to what Doc was saying to me...
I don't feel Lin is the ONLY player who can play PG for this team, especially at that price tag.

Who are the top 5 NBA players holding the record for the most points scored in their first 4 starts since the ABA - NBA merger?
Jeremy Lin .............109
Allen Iverson .......... 101
Shaquille O’Neal .... 100
Michael Jordan ........ 99
Billy Ray Bates ....... 99
Sooo... he has Billy Ray Bates potential, he'd be out of the NBA in 2015...

Yes I realize that he only played a limited amount of games and that he has holes in his game. Still doesn't change the fact that I grew attached to him during him time here. Eventually I'll get over it, but for now I'm upset.

This isn't just a one-season thing.
Playing in a timeshare with Ty Lawson and mostly as a 3rd guard in the rotation.

I was hoping that we'll not match any offers for Lin/Fields, but that wasn't likely back then, now It so close to be true... It'll be like Christmas for me... what a twist!
Happy Knick fan here!
why wouldnt you want them to match Lin? What negative is there for you personally?

Charles Barkley was a pretty good fattie.
Just because someone may have some extra baby fat or what not doesn't mean they are overweight or unable to give you some minutes up and down the floor.
Not everyone is Jerome James or Eddy Curry.

Several media outlets confirmed the report, but The Oregonian has learned that the deal is not complete and includes several other components coming to Portland. The details of the deal are expected to be finalized today.

I like smart players better than flashy guys, that's why I'm not sold on Amare either, but we can't trade his ass, he's untradeable with that contract, but I can live with him, but Lin... would be too much for me.
