KAT or Myles Turner?
May sound crazy at first glance but Myles is an elite defender and rim protector that has developed into a very good 3 point shooter as well. Totally switchable and can guard the perimeter well. Wish there was a way to get Turner here. If we could magically turn KAT into Turner + Nesmith, I think this team would take a big big jump.
The answer is both. But teams are not waiting in line to trade us their good players, and this is particularly why I would hope this board could show more gratitude towards and patience with what has
already been accomplished so far.
I know Towns is not Jokic and not Giannis, but he is clearly next in line. Bridges may not be Jimmy Butler or Jaylen Brown, but his contract fits under our cap and he is very useful and versatile. He has proven to be capable of being everything we need. You just don’t find many players like that. Why not be patient and see how this goes.
Remember that Tatum and Brown have come up short many times before and neither SGA nor Donovan Mitchell are champions already.
Yep. Both is what we need. KAT at PF, Myles at C. Not sure if anything will happen at that end.
If we're going to use your analogy, though, Tatum is also a step below someone like Jokic or Giannis. He can still win rings, but he just needs a little bit more help than some of the top MVP candidates. And then I have KAT a big step below them.
I'm not sure about KAT...I think the fact is that we know his amazing offense offsets his bad defense at C, but he's getting taken out of the game too much by good teams. Part of this is on Thibs and part of that is on KAT. So either we figure out how to get KAT going enough that he's going to be a complete killer at C so that no one gives an eff, or we move him to PF so he can get his defense back, or both. That first option is tough, too. You have guys like Embiid who can combine HOF offense with defense, or Jokic who is a triple double PG in a C body with at least average defense.
