I think it's you
A few vague arguments against (offensive side of the ball only)
Con - He doesn't "stretch the floor enough". Well, he's not Mirotic or Anderson or even Tobias Harris at PF, but he can shoot jumpers and he does hit 3's, and at a decent clip. People want to make it sound like he's Othello Harrington or something - a post only player.
Pro - He's a versatile scorer who has to be accounted for defensively wherever he is, he'll move without the ball himself, and he'll find players who cut with passes. He'll take the ball to the rim to score, but also to kick to shooters or drop an interior pass. If Barrett cuts, and his Canadian team play says he will (plus Duke) then Randle will find him.
Pro - should provide some offensive gravity to draw defenders, carry some scoring, take some pressure off Barrett in game and over the season
Con - Randle seems to thrive where he has the ball in his hands, the offense is spread, and he goes from outside to in, beating slower defenders. Can Barrett, Knox, DSJr, Mitch - if this is a lineup - shoot enough to provide enough spacing for this version of Randle to work. A side note - Randle can play other ways too.
Potential Con - if Randle isn't exactly knockdown from the perimeter, maybe his man cheats to Barrett when Barrett posts up, something he can do to other guards. Then again, Randle looks to cut and is good on the move, so I think that mitigates some of that.
I don't think he's specifically bad for RJ at all, in fact, somewhat helpful
