We are so f*cked. This front office will keep Thibs, and Thibs will not allow them to get rid of Randle (not that any team wants that horrific contract anyway). Burks is staying, Mitch is gone. Get used to one leg Noel being the starting center all year (but we all know he'll miss at least half of the games, so I guess we'll keep old man Taj again).
What exactly is our future? Grimes is not a future star. Good player, but will not be a star. Deuce is a 2nd round pick role player. Obi was a bust for where he was taken. Cam is a huge question mark. Could be good, but we don't know. He doesn't seem to have the mental makeup to be a 'star'.
It is what it is. The joys of being a Knicks fan. Front offices change, players change, but the same result. We're no better than we were in any of the past situations. And we have nothing close to a future potential star. RJ is good, but will not be a star. If we're banking on that happening we're in trouble. Love the kid, but he's just not an efficient player. I know he has time to improve, but an inefficient player and a below average athletic player is not the combination required to be a 'star'.
The hope is we get lucky in the draft wherever we pick(Giannis was 15th), or make a Bulls type signing where one guy gives you 15-20 extra wins. Some of the teams that drafted stars are in the same place we are in; Hawks, Hornets... Not much anyone can do now except watch these meaningless games and stats until the season is over and moves can be made.
