We are so f*cked. This front office will keep Thibs, and Thibs will not allow them to get rid of Randle (not that any team wants that horrific contract anyway). Burks is staying, Mitch is gone. Get used to one leg Noel being the starting center all year (but we all know he'll miss at least half of the games, so I guess we'll keep old man Taj again).

What exactly is our future? Grimes is not a future star. Good player, but will not be a star. Deuce is a 2nd round pick role player. Obi was a bust for where he was taken. Cam is a huge question mark. Could be good, but we don't know. He doesn't seem to have the mental makeup to be a 'star'.

It is what it is. The joys of being a Knicks fan. Front offices change, players change, but the same result. We're no better than we were in any of the past situations. And we have nothing close to a future potential star. RJ is good, but will not be a star. If we're banking on that happening we're in trouble. Love the kid, but he's just not an efficient player. I know he has time to improve, but an inefficient player and a below average athletic player is not the combination required to be a 'star'.

The hope is we get lucky in the draft wherever we pick(Giannis was 15th), or make a Bulls type signing where one guy gives you 15-20 extra wins. Some of the teams that drafted stars are in the same place we are in; Hawks, Hornets... Not much anyone can do now except watch these meaningless games and stats until the season is over and moves can be made.

Yeah, maybe he thinks RJ and some teammates hate him too.

You’re trolling but there’s some truth there. Obviously the thing holding RJ back is his efficiency, especially around the rim.

Personally, I’m optimistic that his “intangibles” (read: drive, pedigree, and work ethic) continue to propel him toward rapid improvement—specifically finishing, drawing fouls, and making FTs.

I wanted to and still would have traded all our vet garbage to bring kp back and have him back up Mitch.

Idgaf if it hurts KP’s ego. He could play with any of our bigs and in the RJ 2nd unit lineup his spacing or lob finish would only make that unit stronger. He’d still get 24-28 MPG b/c Mitch doesn’t play that many minutes

He's overpaid and overated but it's crazy how easily he shut down RJ when he can't even jump anymore lol.

A max extension for RJ could become one of the worst contracts in NBA history.

strangely I didn't read a single word from you after RJs 31 on wednesday. but you express your concerns after every inefficient game. but sure you are "rooting for him".

Can you really blame us? The Knicks have been stuck in this endless rut of ineptitude for 2 decades now with no end in sight. We’re tired

I really don't blame fans that just say f@ck it cut bait and just root for another team. Nothing is changing any time soon. What does loyalty even mean anymore. Dolan just cares about the bottom line. And the so called leader is telling the collective fanbase to shut the f@ck up.

I can’t tell you how little IGAF about KP. It’s embarrassing that I’m responding to your bait, let alone using his initials in this post.

Honestly who gives a F?

I care about RJ and his improvement moving forward. Super interested to see how he finishes around the rim and shoots FTs next season.

They should try to move Randle for lesser players talent wise who might fit better around RJ but Randle’s whole Marbury 2.0 act sank his value to the point that is unlikely. Plus Dolan collector of broken players that he is seems to like Randle more after his “episodes”.

Amid NYK struggles, Quentin Richardson says Julius Randle's had solid year: "(Obviously), it’s not viewed the same because he hasn’t had the same success & neither has the team. In that respect, it's a step back but he's still performing at a high level." https://t.co/HhqVpQLqPs

Qrich knows what he's talking about.

QRich just trying to sugar coat everything and get a job from Dolan. Still has a ways to go to catch up to Wally
Nah he knows what he's talking about he also said last week if knicks had gotten zion or ja instead then star players would have come here.

Instead all we could get was Randle
Mavs
C: Horford | Goga | Paul Reed |
PF: Lauri Markkanen | Randle | Tucker
SF: Trey Murphy | Trent | Anderson | Simone
SG: Vassell | Trent | Livingston
PG: Spida | Mann | Deuce

Exactly! KP means nothing the Knicks got assets for him that they are happy to be currently wasting due to roster glut

You're so right. We're watching games that literally don't mean anything at all. I guess it's going to give some of our young players more burn and experience, but other than that we need to hope this below average front office pulls some miracles out our their azz and draft a Giannis or makes a move with a team that wants to take our crap off of our hands (not very likely).

And Mitch, maybe our best player. If not, our 2nd best player is gone for sure. And he has to be gone. We can't afford to pay another role player 15M+, so unfortunately it's better if he walks. Gave Noel the bag instead. What a shame.

Read on Twitter

Mitchell Robinson was overwhelming with 15 points and 12 rebounds — 10 of which were offensive. The win was keyed by battering the Wizards on the glass. After three quarters, the Knicks mustered 17 second-chance points to none for Washington. For the game, the Knicks out-rebounded the Wizards 60-38.

Porzingis said he “enjoyed’’ the passion of the Garden crowd, but not Robinson’s dominance inside.

“Mitchell Robinson has gotten better, for sure,’’ Porzingis said. “Looks like he has put on some weight and he has really good instincts where the ball is gonna fall. It’s hard on a guy like that, that can jump and has enough strength now to get those positions.’’

High praise from the 7-foot-3 Porzingis, who was supposed to be all-everything when he got drafted. Now Porzingis’ career — and Robinson’s — are at a crossroads. Robinson is an unrestricted free agent.

“He’s been huge and doing that all year,’’ Randle said of Robinson.

Mitch was the reason why we won yesterday. We shot 34% from the field and 30% from 3...not typical to winning.

He had 10 offensive rebounds cleaning up all of RJ/Randles misses.

duetta wrote:As regards RJ, offer him a long-term extension that you can live with this offseason. If he rejects it, and then goes out and becomes a true star by the end of year four, then you always have the ability to match any offer. At this point, management needs to see significant development in his offensive skill set before offering him anything close to a max. He's just too inconsistent on the offense end at this point in his development.

As regards Mitch, I'd go as high as 4 years, $60 million. Mitch plays with passion and if you could encourage him to do some offensive skill development, his upside would be significant. If Noel is worth $10 a season, Mitch is worth $15.

If all you’d offer is 15 per it’s better to make no offer at all. He’s going to be a 20 point scorer, even if it’s not on the best efficiency. At his age, draft spot, and potential, I’d offer him Jaylen Brown money. I’m thinking 4/100 is closer to fair.
