Send Julius, Mitch, Quickley and picks not in 2023.

KAT…Noel…Sims
Obi…Knox
Fournier…Burke
RJ…Grimes
Kemba…Rose…Deuce

If and when we have cap space, we look for a star SF/SG and push Fournier to 6th man and Burke off the team, with RJ playing either the SF or SG.
I like it because I believe In Obi and don’t believe in Randle so much, and it opens up playing time for the kids.

Highly doubt we trade Julius for KAT.

He is probably untouchable numero uno on the team.

It would be a somewhat (KAT gets the edge but it isn't huge) lateral move to do so.

We have plenty of other ammo to trade though.

While I don't think Thibs would love it. We'd have pretty much the most dynamic 4-5 Combo in the league. And with Randle proving he can hold his own on the perimeter, it wouldn't be a terrible fit either.

I liked Smith a lot pre-draft. think he'd be a good fit at C for us since he can stretch the floor. reminds me of Myles Turner

Yeah I’d definitely take a flyer on him too

I'd settle for any C that could hit a 10 foot jumper or a 5 foot jump hook on the regular.

FO decided to run back the two rim running fools.

I mean, Elf is gone, so at least Knicks not playing offense 3 on 5, but it's still 4 on 5 with the 48 minutes of "dunks only" on offense.

we're not trading RJ. not even for KAT. the FO are doing what they're doing to attract Zion. On top of Zion being CAA, RJ is one of his best friends. they're not messing that up for KAT, who hasn't lead a team anywhere.

JJ Reddick still out there. Could be a sweet addition.

Some dude called into Macri’s podcast today and said the same thing about the proposed Turner trade. He works in marketing for the Raptors and heard it a couple of days ago, then heard the guy on KnicksFanTV say the same deal, same pieces - Mitch and Knox (not sure on Vildoza or Obi?) and second rounders. Said it will be announced this week. I guess we’ll see.

Anyone been paying attention to Myles Turner these last couple years? Would love an updated scouting report and feel for how he’d fit in with Randle/RJ/Kemba.

It does make sense if vildoza is in the deal. With the kemba acquisition and the McBride selection I see no room for vildoza!!!!!

If we get turner it would be a wrap for the east!!!!!!!

I read the Noels contract has 4M in unlikely bonus. So it does not count against cap space. He will earn 27,7M (stating in 8,8M).

Mcbride got the minimum contract of 925M to gain more next year and a third-year is a team option.

If we trade Mitch and Knox for Myles Turner, we will have under 21M to sign Fournier and Burks.

If we trade Mitch, Knox and Obi for Myles Turner, we will have around 25M to sign Fournier and Burks.

We would need a little more than 27M to sign Fournier and Burks for 78/4 and 30/3 deals unless there was an unlikely bonus that does not count against the cap.

Very interesting, Richard. Do you remember where you read about the details of Noel's contract?

[edit] Agree with everything outlined after the first line.

I make it ~$18.1m for EF's first year and ~$9.5 for Burks's first year, so together let's say somewhere just less than ~$27.7m.

The only way I can realistically make this work (right now) is to throw in one of Burks/Noel/Walker as a sign and trade. (Obi just isn't enough extra ballast.) Still need Kev. And I still don't see the Pacers's objective.

The one other possibility I see is Mitch + Kevin + Obi + Grimes for Myles - again dependent on Grimes not being signed and able to be part of a trade right away.

fwiw, it's possible to sign-and-trade a team's renounced free agents (eg Frank), but you can't sign them on the Room MLE and then trade them - they have to be signed in a way that could have been a 3 year (at least) contract ... so I just don't see how to use that.

"Do you like puzzles. Marybeth B8RcDeM.... ?"

Well, actually, as you may have noticed, yes, yes I do.

However, this is a classic instance of getting sucked into answering the wrong (type of) question.

The Kantian transcendental question is: How is X possible?

The Nietzschean transcendental question is: Why is X necessary?

Those of us who do love puzzles always have to be wary of the catastrophic spider of Königsberg doing his best to trap us in his webs yet again.

Rather than spending the best part of 24 hours looking at every aspect of how one might contrive a trade of Myles for Mitch (as I've just done :( :nonono: ), one would be better off cutting the Gordian knot and considering why on earth the Pacers might think that to be necessary.
