He's not better then Sessions. He hasn't really done anything in the league since being drafted so this is a confusing move to me. There has recently been rumors of teams being interested in KOQ and LT so maybe Perry has a trade about to go down.

He's better than Sessions, younger than Sessions, allows us to move Sessions to a purely mentor role, and he played with THJr at Michigan (so maybe there's some chemistry there). This move isn't very confusing at all.

I agree with all besides him being better then Sessions. Burke has been bad since he's been in the league and he got his chances in Utah to show something but never took advantage of those chances. Sessions is and has been one of the best backup PG's in the league every year he's been in the league. As of now Sessions is the better player but hoping that can change if the Knicks are actually planning on keeping Burke. The kid obviously has talent which he showed in college which got him drafted in the lottery and i think top 10 but as we all know, some of these kids just can't translate their games from college to the pros.

He's probably confusing him with Alec Burks.

Both Burke and Burks played in Utah.

Word. For all the hype around DSjr. He's only avg'ing like 11ppg in the pre season. He's a volume shot maker ala Baron Davis but man he's not going to be the type to create for others. Carlisle will have to real him in some.

I mean, I get that teams usually carry 3 PG's - I mean, teams would do this on a 12 man roster and it's up to 15 now.

So, other than there is a roster glut and Baker is theoretically a SG/Pg, it was Frank/Session and then Jack - to be the 3rd string PG/mentor/guy who barely plays - because experience.

Jack didn't cut it (clearly) so they sign a young guy? It's not mentorship. If it's the "have PG depth" what about Baker?

I don't mind it, it's just confusing on the heels of giving Baker 4 million a year, then also signing Sessions.

Not to overanalyze it, just a weird move for a team that already is sort of crowded, roster wise.

Why is it worth angst at all? We're swapping scrubs.

Why wait until after the preseason is pretty much over to bring the guy in? Didn't they not realize that Jack is toast from Hornacek sitting and watching Hoodie Melo practice? Wouldn't you want the guy in so he gets comfortable with the players and/or system (such as it is)?

I believe Jeff needed to see Jack in action for at least 60 in game minutes before his analysis of Jack was complete :D

Actually, the last two years he was a solid backup - his issue is that he can't start.

Kinda confusing but i don't mind it either. I hope the kid makes that team and gets some floor time and shows he can play in this league which he hasn't done yet. Maybe putting him and THJ together will help the kid out.

Let's see if he can even make the roster. If he does, he'll have some hot shooting nights.

Ummmmmmmmm ok, i guess. I'm all about the youth movement so i'm rooting for the kid but he's definitely been a bust so far so lets hope the kid finds the light and can actually do something with us. His numbers for last year were bad but the 2015/16 season wasn't that bad.

If Sessions is about as cooked as we thought Jack was (seems true) and rosters are 17, but two of that 17 is "two way contracts"

Frank/Burke/Sessions (3)
THJr/CLee/Baker (6)
McD/Kuz/LFT (9)
KP/Beasley/ (11)
WHG/Noah/KOQ/Kan (15)
Dotson (16)

It's one guy too many. Kornet is on a two way to the G League. I thought Dotson was not on a G-League two way.

I'm thinking KOQ and/or Lee are traded before the season starts and I also think Beasley requests a trade / release at some point this year.

Also, I still think giving Kornet a 2-way contract was a mistake. :-?
