I'm mad at us for signing Fournier. That move was substraction by addition.

DeRozan would not have the same space he gets in Chicago in a Knicks starting team. Instead of Lonzo, Lavine, Vuc, Caruso, he would play with no reliable 3 pt threat in Randle, Mitch/Noel, RJ, and whatever PG we could get with no Cap Space left. Maybe the plan was to bring Payton back for the MLE.

Instead of chasing Simmons we could of got Lonzo for cheap. He isn’t Simmons but he does his part

Lonzo is a great defender but he is the opposite of Simmons at the offensive end. Simmons is a driver and a great playmaker in the half court. Lonzo is a great playmaker in the open court and a shooter in the half court.

Thibs likes a driver/slasher PG to open the defense. And Randle plays a slow game while Lonzo plays faster.

I dont think we target Lonzo.

He plays no defense at all, he only cares about shooting and taking difficult and stupid shots.
Is he an excellent shooter? Yes, he is. But he absolutely lacks criteria.

He's not a leader in and off the court, he's the definition of a chucker.
The best thing I can wish to you is that I hope you trade him asap.

If a fan of a team where a player played for 7 freaking seasons can't give a decent opinion of that player, who can?
Many of you believed I was attacking your team and responded with hate. Always liked NYK. I was a big fan of Latrell and Allan Houston team when I was a kid. Whatever...
It seems you were only paying attention to his stats. That contract was insane to me when it was signed.

I wish you exactly the same I did when I wrote that message, I hope you can get rid of him. But believe me, IT IS NOT AN EASY MISSION.

Fournier is making me rethink my stance on Carmelo as a defender. He's that bad.

Fournier's contract is not unreasonable and very similar to the Bogdan Bogdanovic's contract. They are both very similar players. They can shoot 3's at 40% clip and make a few moves off the dribble. Neither plays much defense. The biggest difference is that Atlanta has a legitimate PG and we don't have one. Under the right circumstance, i.e. a PG who can break down a defense, Fournier would almost never need to create his own offense and would look much better.

Is he wrong?

He makes the same money as THJ, Bogdan, Gallo, Duncan Robinson, Bertrans, Joe Harris and a couple of other wing shooters. Fournier is having a better season than all of them and has a team option in his last year.

The only wings that you can argue are having a better year and make the same as Fournier are GTJr and Norman Powell

The problem with Fournier is that you are looking at him through this team. On a team with a good PG, he would not be asked to handle the ball as much, he would not play 2 on 2 with Randle as much and he would look like a much different ball player.
