It’s funny that the same people that are criticizing you for analyzing his body language are the same people that over analyzed Randle’s body language for 5 years

I don't think he's the type to get overly upset or excited about anything. At least not showing it. He was actually on the Shannon Sharpe show and they were talking about it and he seemed cool with it. I wouldn't read too much into body language. The barometer is how he actually plays at the end of the day. NYC isn't Minny. If he doesn't play hard it can get ugly real quick.

I think Thibs has been slowly giving that level of trust he had for IQ to Duece. I think our staff believes he is capable or else you don’t send Donte out. The Can Payne signing is a CYA move, but Duece probably has levels they seen in practice we haven’t seen yet. I expect him to have a good season showing those levels with a longer leash.. plus come post season if we are mostly healthy bridges most likely will be there to be the primary option.
Deuce has way more trust that IQ based on earning it. Dude's first foray into the playoffs and he nailed it versus elite competition on the biggest stage in the NBA. And TJ Warren can still get buckets,,,he was lighting up Mikal in practice...

KAT is KAT. Don't expect the impossible. Don't expect him to be something he is not. Winning will allow us all to dismiss and ignore the shortcomings but whenever that first losing streak or slump hits, I'm curious to see how he handles it and even how fans handle it too.

He has a lot of work to do. I know people are happy to get rid of Randle, but KAT has his lion share of problems as well. He has to change the narrative about him. There's a reason why there was very few teams interested in trading for KAT.

I think it's mixed emotions. He's more than likely thrilled to be in NY, and I think he's alluded to it. But he's also built a life in Minneapolis and a bond with the teammates and the fans. It's the only place he knew in his adult life so I can understand why it's tough with everything happening so fast. It has to be overwhelming.
Even Melo sounded a bit flat in his first interviews and he was basically pushing to come here.
I don't really care for training camp soundbites. But I can't wait to see them play and how they build chemistry.

Don't get me wrong, I want KAT to be here and am happy about the trade. However, I also want KAT to want to be here.
The highlighted part above is what I was missing. There was no "gushing" like we saw when Mikal got here. I thought KAT would say how much the past 9 years meant to him in Minny, then add "but OMG I am finally able to fulfill a childhood dream and play for the team I originally hoped would draft me." Instead, he mentioned how much the franchise meant to his mother (not him) and how being here means he'll be closer to his family (not, how he can't wait to win it all here).
I'm not the type to read much into things. However, my gut reaction says he's not crazy happy. At least, not yet. Just a personal observation.
