So to recap what's happened since the leaked deal from Brousard for anyone who doesn't refresh this thread a few hundred times a day. (Let me know if I missed anything)
- Minny says they are a willing participant but they aren't sure the deal can get done.
- Walsh was asked about rumored deal and didn't quite deny it.
- Reports of Dolan calling Kreonke directly about the deal. (Later there was talk that they have spoken multiple times) [Forgot this. Hat Tip to Vallen]
- ESPN Reports the Lakers/Nuggets are involved in a Bynum/Melo swap.
- Lakers refute the ESPN report, not even 30 minutes later.
- Melo says he's going to take a "hard look" at signing the extension.
- SAS Reports that Melo is getting annoyed that the Knicks haven't been able to get this done. He insists that if 2 of the 3 (Chandler, Gallo, Fields) are involved the deal gets done.
- Bucher reports the Nuggets want Chandler, Gallo, Fields, Mozgov in addition to multiple first round picks.
- Amare reportedly texted Melo to hang in there, that the Knicks are doing all they can.
- Melo walks back on the "hard look" comment saying nothing has changed and from the beginning he intended to give Denver a look as free agency approached.
That's about it. Looking at it in list form or as a timeline makes it look like things have been going on but really since the original report from Berger (later confirmed from Broussard) about the Knicks, T-Wolves, and Nuggets there hasn't been much noise of anything. My speculation from that means they are working together to get a deal done. If there were any major roadblocks in the deal, there would be a lot of leaks and things trying to gain leverage from both sides. -Jitpal
