Michael Kay is saying that Hal is the one who forced Cashman to call up the kids.

If reports are true that Cashman was unwilling to go with the youth movement and wanted to continue fielding the same failed lineup, but Hal had to override him then there absolutely is zero reason why he should be brought back after this season.

It really is sad how much of a stubborn and toxic person Cashman has become to this organization that he was willing to place his ego above winning. I really hope that Hal finally waking up means that Cashman's days are numbered.

I see zero reason why Cashman should remain with the team after this season wraps up. His roster construction and trades have been horrible, and players are being mishandled. The fact that it took until the bottom fell out for the kids to be called up is basically sabotage.

Hal's loyalty to this guy is asinine. This is a business FFS.

I get the feeling Rodon is going to turn into the next Pavano, Paxton, Pineada, etc because Cashman loves to make long term investments on injury prone starting pitchers who show a very small sample size of success. Will this man ever learn from his dumb mistakes?

My guess is that they may have tried to “tweak” Rodons form.

We need to finish 12-7 to have a winning record. It's been 31 years since we had a losing season!

Welp, that just means he'll tear some ligament in his pitching arm halfway through next year.

Also, the Yankees haven't outbid ANYONE for an Japanese player since before Dice K, so it's not happening now.

Yanks are too cheap. Just call them the NYC Twins.

To be fair, they gathered the most international pool money to use on Shohei when he was posted, but he bitched out and decided to join the Angels.

Also I think they did bid the most for Master Hero Tanaka.

Then it shows they can't close the deal. Whatever it is, they suck.

81-78 with 3 left to play in KC guarantees we don't finish with a losing record! Wow. So close! Fire Boone/Cashman and sell the team!

Brian Cashman signed him.

But Rodon was great the last 2 seasons with an ERA of 2.50. The Mets were even rumored to be interested in him.

Now you get it. This happens more than you would think around here. Pavano/Sonny Gray. The other pitcher we signed for this year too! Montas! He also signed Jacoby Ellsbury who played about half of the games in 7 years! He has never won anything without members of the core 4 that he inherited. Hasn't been to a WS since they all retired.

It would be so 2023 Yankees to get swept by the Royals and finish .500, currently losing 2-0.
