Shumpert had us all fooled with his defense first attitude because the more I watch the games the more I see he's not very good at defense. It's either that or he's lost his passion.
I would like to blame the coaching staff, but this is a player who press conferences had me thinking he would be a future beast. I'm not as convinced as I was when he use to hate guys with low cut socks and would use that fact to try and destroy them on the court. We were bamboozled by his wordplay.
Winning makes the Raptors more desperate to move Lowry, not less

What's funny is that on the Raptors board people are thinking that losing makes the Knicks more desperate while you bring up the idea that winning makes the Raptors more desperate. As the wins mount for the Raptors and the losses mount for the Knicks, each fan base is slowly embracing competing (raptors) and rebuilding (knicks).
As a raptor's fan I have no problem them not trading Kyle Lowry for pennies on the dollar and role with the squad the have and still be in contention for being the best in this god awful Atlantic Division. At the worst they fall off, place 9th and miss the playoffs, and get a middling pick in the deepest and best draft in a decade. At best they make the playoffs and hopefully place something better then 8th and give whoever the play in the 1st round a run for their money and gain valuable experience.
I'm not sure what the Knicks have for picks going forward, but I am assuming that the Knicks 1st rounder this year has long since been traded away. Worst case scenario is that the Knicks flatline, get a high lottery pick only to see another team using it - thus doing nothing for a Knicks rebuild.
In terms of worst case scenario's, the Knicks have it much worse.
