what ill be looking for is Lins FG% if it stays around 45%

and if he continues to make his teammates around him better...

How can you say this when Dragic and Lowry didn't put up those numbers and both are superior guards?

they were surrounded by a lot more talent than Lin will be. Lin can put up a lot of shots. but I do not see Lin getting 20 pts. If he can do 18 and 8 i think that is great. and I don't know about them being superior guards particularly dragic

Because they aren't superior guards. At least not offensively. Dragic doesn't have the ability to take his man 1 on 1 or get to the hoop at will, he scores mostly on jumpers. Lowry doesn't have the speed at all. Lowry is a great defensive guard. I'd say Lin > Dragic offensively and defensively.

^I think Dragic's better too (though I may be biased because of that wonderful, wonderful sweep of the Spurs back in 2010), but it's definitely very close and if you've watched both, Dragic certainly doesn't have Lin's speed. I don't get why you're getting so worked up about it, though. I doubt Lin will average 20 points next season, but it's not like it's absolutely ridiculous to think he'll put up numbers on a bad team.

What Dragic doesn't have in speed he makes up for and then some in craftiness. Lin is like Rose he only has one gear and that speed will get him rocking more GQ suits on the bench. He doesn't play as smart as Goran.

Comparing a guard going into his 7th year to a guard going into what in reality is his 2nd year is silly.

Games played Dragic: 271 Games played Lin: 61

What's silly about it? Right now Dragic is better.

I don't think it's a fair comparison.

 You need to calm down dude. I really don't get why you're getting so worked up over Lin overrating that seems to be half in your imagination. He's not even on the team anymore.

Similar to the other thread why Durant is better than Melo?

Only this time the older player wins for right now.

Dragic even has playoff success under his belt, and please don't let me touch that 85%.

You have to understand that any negative garbage that can be spewed about Lin helps Knicks fans feel better about themselves.

That's why we have a designated thread for all this garbage. I'm not worked up. Simply stated that Goran Dragic is the superior guard to Jeremy Lin.

It's not about 'ceilings' and 'potential' because both will probably get better as the years go on but if were talking RIGHT NOW Goran Dragic is better. Not much to debate.

Yeah there really is little to debate on this as it is a right now situation, and Dragic is better right now.

Comparing Lin to Kyrie and John Wall get stale.

even Lin compares his game to Dragic, why shouldn't we?

I don't really care about the Melo v. Durant thread.

HBC you spent hours defending Lin with little video snippets and such after he got hurt and now you go out of your way (because I assume you have better things to do) to talk badly about him. You just can't let it ride?

I don't get it... And if I'm Lin I'm still not playing in the Miami series with millions of dollars at stake especially knowing now that Dolan wanted Lin to take less money. That series was a lost cause... surely the little d-leaguer couldn't have done anything about it.

Get out... get some sun.. go shoot some jumpers... grab some coconut juice when you're done to rehydrate.

So little guy where'd you come from? What was your last user name? Just came out of the clear blue sky and jumped right into the fray like if you've been here several years.

Lin has put up good assist numbers on a team where no one can really shoot the ball apart from himself. None of our shooting guards can shoot the ball. JR was poor, Iman was poor and so was Landry. Stoudemire has a terrible shot, Carmelo put up his worst career field goal percentage ever. Chandler has no offensive game apart from dunks. Despite this he racked up good assist numbers. This is why I think Lin has much more potential on a team with good shooting guards.

At the moment though I think Dragic is better. It's almost a toss up though. Next season is going to be interesting I think. Lots of good young point guards.

The fact that you're comparing a little no name D-leaguer to Dragic speaks much more for Lin than it does for Dragic.. you get that right? Or is that too complicated for you to understand?
