Stop Freaking Out People. The man has a Bulging Disc, not a Herniated Disk. Bulging Disc can heal themselves with Rest & Treatment. Surgery is usually a LAST RESORT

Then why all this panic?! Or it's just a typical for the Knicks fanbase?
There are only two best-case scenarios.
The one where he plays again at a high level would be nice, but it seems more unlikely now than ever.
The one where he is removed from our cap if he is damaged goods is not so easy to have happen. He could linger in a weakened state where he is able to play, but is basically useless to us and we are stuck with him. That is more often what happens than not. That is why it is a big problem and not so easily addressed.

Joe, you said you may be crazy, but you were optimistic. I was fine with that and want you to believe whatever you want. But no more posts telling us to stop freaking out when we are the ones having a calm, measured discussion here. Got me?
It seems some of you want to come in threads and make generalized judgments about the nature of the posters point of view being emotionally imbalanced when it is the shrill posts claiming people are losing their cool that are the emotionally unstable posts.
Maybe if you read the posts and digested them, you'd understand why there are skeptics here who just talk about what they are skeptical about and who don't need little juice cups and rubbed tummies to make their belly aches go away.
Telling people they are panicking about Amare is really weak. We're talking about a player who now has had back issues for close to a year since the playoffs, but in reality probably much earlier. Stat was not the player he was in the second half of last season. And this season, he was mostly bad and obviously physically compromised. And you guys want to tell us this is something new?
How about some of you go play somewhere else then? I don't need to see another juvenile scolding when some of us want to talk about this. Got me?

He probably won't retire. He will come back as a former shell of himself.
Hope so... But maybe he will need to regain those extra muscles and develop some post-game to play C. In that case, he would be traded for a PF. If he's back again and able to play at PF without changing much of his game, that will be a miracle! Our prayers are with Amar'e. May God Almighty bless him!
Strength and Honour!

Think Chris Webber. Though not the same injury, never was the same after 2003. His shooting percentage dipped. Stopped going to the basket so he became a strict jumpshooter. Stopped getting the calls as he was not attacking. Stopped blocking shots.
At least he was always a great passer, so he continued dishing and they continued running the offense through him. Amare does not have the same quality.

The last 5 pages have been nothing but people claiming the man to be "Dead-Weight". The man has a Bulging Disc. Something that heals itself over time with Rest & Treatment, with surgery being a Last Resort. Yet people a claiming the man's career is over.
Is that not over-reacting to you?

You're having comprehension issues now. Your paraphrasing of everything that has been discussed is reductionist and is only said to support your attitude that you need to scold us which you most certainly do not.
I added to the post you are replying to. Go read it please. The basic guideline you need to adopt is less commenting about other peoples comments. You have a point to make, make it. Otherwise, don't try to tell the board they are standing on a ledge and are irrational, thank you very much.

Nobody is scolding anybody, so i'm not sure where this is coming from. I'm posting how I feel just like everyone else is.

OK, let's switch gears then.
I am no longer asking you. I am telling you to STOP TELLING THE BOARD THEY ARE PANCKING AND TO CALM DOWN WHEN ALL THEY ARE DOING IS DISCUSSING A PLAYER.
You are not just expressing an opinion any longer when you post a graphic of a man on a ledge and say STOP PANICKING! That is not an opinion. That is disrespect of the basic exchange of opinion and I'm surprised you don't understand the difference.
If you were only interested in exchanging opinions, you would say you disagree and tell us why. It is that simple. If you don't know the difference, stay out of people's hair and don't try to shame them because you think you are sane and they are not.
Contribute if you want, but do it without the added baggage please.

Re: Amare Has Bulging Disc, Out INDEFINITELY
Sky is failing, sky is failing.
This little to no room to maneuver is a classic overstatement. People said the same exact thing after the Melo trade and then we added Lin, Novak, Smith, Shumpert, Harrellson, Jeffries, Jordan less than a year later.
We haven't lost all control of all our picks, Amar'e has not been given a firm course of treatment yet, nobody here has examined Amar'e, he's not slated to have surgery, he's just 29 and this is not a severe structural problem with his back.
The panic is definitely premature and overstated.

Really depends on which version. We are better off compared to Amare most of this season with the exception of last two weeks.

How do you feel if you are guaranteed to get from Amare for the following three seasons what you got this year from him already?

I agree that some people are overreacting here. Wait until a doctor's opinion imho. Before then, it's silly to claim that man's career is over. Didn't he go to Florida to get a second opinion? Hopefully to a better doctor than the ones with NYK.

Amar'e has been back to his old self the last few weeks. Players who are finished don't go in and out from good to bad. He had taken time to work his way back and shed weight. He was getting there. He is a hard worker and he will get there again. Amar'e has always had a kind of stiff up straight and up and down body but his explosion has made him special and his explosion was back ... his explosion comes mostly from his legs which are not affected.
Amar'e will be back.

You have been shockingly reasonable and level-headed the last few weeks. What happened?

I think more than a little of this 'Amare is done' talk is wishful thinking on the part of people who just don't like him as a player for some reason and want him to be finished as a player.
If it were simply concern over losing a starter, we wouldn't be hearing about how stupid the front office was for using the amnesty on Billups and how the Knicks are now 'saddled' with a bad contract for the foreseeable future.
A lot of people seem less concerned with not having an important part of the lineup and more concerned with letting everyone know how right they were all along.
And all on pretty much zero hard information. I'll wait for the medical staff to report before drawing any conclusions, personally.
