His salary equates to $42.5 mil per season. That's substantially more than the KNICKS originally expected and that would have helped us out related to the salary cap. Still, glad it's done.

This regime has been so good and responsible with contracts, it doesn't feel right to have this guy make more then Brunson, Randle and Bridges. Considering he has never and very likely never make an AS game and is always hurt. So to give him 5 years and $42.5M avg. sucks and I hope it doesn't become one of those poison untraceable contracts.

Even though the 5/212 is below his max of 245, I'd wager OG is actually a max contract franchise cornerstone player, but since his impact is on the side of the ball that's significantly less statistically quantifiable it's not readily apparent to the general public.

Just have to hope his inevitable injuries don't crop up at the wrong times.
