BKlutch is on my foe list so there’s that.
I was talking simply playoffs. And before this game Melo was shooting a higher %. It was still bad as all hell though. Melo was shooting something like 39% and Russ was shooting 36% for the series before last night.
And yet still less efficient. 46.5% TS% for RW and 45.3% TS% for Melo.
Now you know I don’t look at or even like advanced stats. I don’t even use them against players I don’t like.
Either you’re making your shots or you’re not. With that said Russ only being 1.2% higher than Melo is a damn problem too. However I wonder what the entire teams shooting numbers look like. Just from watching the games I would bet you would be hard pressed to find someone shooting well.
As I said before, OKC is building brick buildings. That’s not excusing Melo at all. He’s shooting like crap. He’s a part of the team and therefore a part of the problem, but I will not lay an entire teams performance at his feet like people are still trying to do here.
As far as my solutions to OKC’s problem?
I have none really. They need a bench and some shooting. You can put Melo on the bench but who do you start? Patterson isn’t a 5. They could really use O’Quinn AND Lee.
Then they can really cut Melo’s minutes to under 30 per game.
Adams/KOQ
Melo/Patterson
PG/Brewer
Roberson/Lee
Russ/They still need a backup point.
That’s not happening before this series is over.
