I'll give you Joel Anthony or my upcoming 12th rounder for Zaza.

I'll let you know tomorrow KLN. I want to listen to some more offers before i decide.

No... My pick is 8 slots away... tomorrow I'll be up to pick. Now or never.

Time to spill the beans on my roster - I've assembled it based on the 2004 champion Detroit Pistons and the 2005 roster that took the Spurs to 7 games.

The 5 starters -
Richard Hamilton - Richard Hamilton
Chauncey Billups - Andre Miller
Rasheed Wallace - Chris Kaman
Ben Wallace - Andrew Bogut
Tayshaun Prince - Shane Battier

The bench players -
Antonio McDyess - Udonis Haslem
Mehmet Okur - Ersan Ilyasova
Mike James - CJ Watson
Corliss Williamson - Craig Smith
Darvin Ham - James Singleton
Lindsey Hunter - Earl Watson
Elden Campbell - Theo Ratliff

Coach - Larry Brown

Yes I'm missing Darko but I think I'm alright. I think I did well (arguably better) in some respects than that lineup while giving up a bit in other respects (e.g. Prince being a more talented offensive player than Battier, Bogut not being nearly as good a defender as Ben Wallace in his prime, Ilyasova is a little more offensively polished than Okur but lacking the size, etc.)

Thoughts?

Ok... this is why I have a problem with you. You make a post saying that you'd trade Zaza for an upcoming 12th, and I offer my 12th that'll be up in 10 picks, and you DENY? I am just dumbfounded...

Thanks. Had to pick a veteran point since Bayless was my only other option to backup that position.

I guess you had to return the favor, since i selected Blake.

Thanks to those who've given the well wishes, though it wasn't a life or death situation, my time was needed to be with family. It still is, but I figured now that I had a moment...I'd check back into this thread.

I wish I had hired my own successor...no offense to Knicks1214 (as the Mavs are now yours to do as you please), but I would much rather have had someone who would continue my vision. I thought the trade was GOD awful, and that's sad, because I liked it more than your draft selection. From a roster filled with tough/high IQ players on cheap salaries...to the group of misfits you just put together. You win the "Isiah Thomas" award from me. I'm sure Pops is going to love coaching this roster.

Lol, thanks a lot...no offense taken though. I liked the team a lot, but I really wanted Bargs because I felt that he made a very good inside out combo with Horford. Lopez is more of an energy guy, in my opinion, and wouldn't give Horford enough room to operate in the post/10-15 foot range. I was trying to make the trade for Bargs without giving up Harden (who I am very high on) and without getting back Gordon, but I feel like I can still get off some trades that will improve the team. Sorry I was unable to continue your vision, but hey, no two GMs are the same, right?

The "Isiah Thomas award" is a little harsh in my opinion...even though I didn't exactly help the cap situation. Yeah, Gordon is overpayed, but you selected Brand over a bunch of other players that would have been a much better fit with the team that you were putting together (off the top of my head, Jordan Hill). The Lopez pick I also wasn't a huge fan of with other plays on the board, but hey, it was your choice.

The Stephenson pick I made because he has a lot of potential and with no-nonsense guys with strong veteran presences like Pops and Fisher on the team, none of his antics will be allowed.

Have faith...don't worry, more trades are coming. If you have some ideas, by all means give them to me because I'm all ears and ready to explore all options. Sorry the team isn't turning out how you'd like it to...

I hope your personal problems continue to get better and if you ever want your team back, it's all yours. Sorry again and hope things resolve themselves for you.

I'm glad you can be a sport about it Knicks1214, that's what I respect about you. Thanks for offering up my squad, you didn't have to do that...no really...please...they're all yours!

About my Brand selection...

I knew it was the controversial pick, believe me. I've explained it NUMEROUS times. Taking on that contract wasn't an issue simply because of how far under the cap my team was to that point. Brand was the BEST FIT ON THE BOARD WITH THE HIGHEST REWARD, simple as that. Pop loves him a banger at the 4 who can play with his back to the basket and hit the midrange J. I know many of you guys understand the game, it just boggles the mind that some couldn't see Brand was in the perfect position to succeed on this roster, especially with Pop putting himself in the position to obtain that level of success. He was tailor made for that ROLE, don't let the contract blind you.

Now, not only do you have Brand's salary...but you took on BG and Bargs' contracts too. This team is now destined for mediocrity (hence the IT award), with questionable character.

You may not agree with the Lopez selection, which is fine...but if you remember in the last BAT, he was on the team that you took over and I tired everything in my power to obtain his services. RoLo is most definitely a favorite of mine, and fit with my young/tough/high IQ talent I decided to build my foundation on. I knew that I was going to target another 4 (Blair/Brand) that would require minutes, sliding Horford to the 5 and rounding out a solid big rotation. Yes, Rolo is an energy guy...but his energy is just as essential in the starting lineup as it was off the bench. Not to mention I had other guys in Dragic and Childress who could spark some energy off the bench, and Tony Allen infusing some defensive intensity as well.

But like I said, it's your squad now...Do you. I hope you continue to make moves and mold it into the team that suits your style. Obviously mine is just very different than yours. But to each their own.

Was I the only one that actually liked the Brand selection? He actually has some post moves, and can get boards... something that RoLo/Gallo/Horford aren't gifted at. (post moves)

That was the whole point of the selection.

I tried to acquire Blair, with no avail. I had plenty of other younger/cheaper options, but I was so far under the cap that it wasn't an issue taking on Brand's contract. Brand had the highest level of talent/reward and was a perfect compliment to the roster and to the style that Pop likes to coach to. To me, he became my "wild card" (bitches!!) of sorts...giving this roster a real chance to do some damage should they be in contention for a playoff birth down the stretch.

My other choice was Kenyon Martin who is on an expiring for practically the same money, but doesn't fit the Pop mold (nor my roster-aside from defensive toughness) and is coming off a major surgery.

I thought the Brand selection was actually pretty ballsy, but something I was and still am proud of. And I HATE Brand!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I myself is going through a family issue as well. I find this BAT to be a reprieve though.

With that being said, about the Brand selection, maybe the one coach who can actually make him serviceable while hiding some negatives about a player is Pop. Anyone who can take pressure off a star player he can use you and make you look like a basketball player again.

Thanks for that. It's too stupid to get annoyed online...people can debate and whatnot, but no reason to get touchy. At least, that's what I feel lol. Np for offering it back...it was yours initially so if you wanted it back, it was all yours. Haha, thanks for letting me keep the team

About my Brand selection...

I knew it was the controversial pick, believe me. I've explained it NUMEROUS times. Taking on that contract wasn't an issue simply because of how far under the cap my team was to that point. I guess. But why not get a player with potential like Hill and then wait a few rounds to get someone like Kurt Thomas, (Ben Wallace/Jason Maxiell-not much offense from either), Drew Gooden, or take a flier on Mozgov? When he's healthy, he's a good fit on most NBA teams, but he hasn't been healthy in a while. However, I do agree that he would fit with Pop's game plan...especially with Pop's ability to keep his players healthy throughout the regular season to keep them fresh for the post season. However, with Brand's knees and inability to stay healthy during the regular season, I doubt Pops could do much.

Now, not only do you have Brand's salary...but you took on BG and Bargs' contracts too. This team is now destined for mediocrity (hence the IT award), with questionable character.

Like I said before, BG's contract was kinda forced upon me if I wanted Bargs (who I still feel really fits next to Horford). People need to remember that Bargs is actually a good low post defender. http://sonicscentral.com/apbrmetrics/vi ... 2cebaee61d
In fact, he allowed only .8 ppp last season which was 14th best in the NBA. Not to mention they only shot 42% against him. Horford and Bargs actually form a very formidable defensive combination at the 4/5 positions.

You may not agree with the Lopez selection, which is fine...but if you remember in the last BAT, he was on the team that you took over and I tired everything in my power to obtain his services. Not to mention I had other guys in Dragic and Childress who could spark some energy off the bench, and Tony Allen infusing some defensive intensity as well.

I remember, trust me lol. I'm just not that high on using him as a starter...he's more of a second team player to me; but to each his own.

But like I said, it's your squad now...Do you. I hope you continue to make moves and mold it into the team that suits your style. Obviously mine is just very different than yours. But to each their own.

There will be more moves...I think I have a good team now with some holes and bad contracts that I obviously have to fix, but in the end, I think the plan I have for the team will work out.

Great pick, newera. He was one of the guys that I was hoping would still be there when I made my next pick lol. Obviously it was a long shot, but he fell this far so you never know. Great pickup though...

I'm still looking for some trade offers. Hit me up - realballa1214@yahoo.com - if you're interested in anyone on my team.

Yeah liked the Anthony Parker pick quite a bit.
