Why would the Wizards acquire Hinrich? They already have a PG on the roster who is overpaid, they do not need another.

Pair Wall up with a high character veteran, change the team's demeanor by bringing in good guys who play the right way. Get a prospect too. I actually like that deal for the Wiz. Hinrich is overpaid for sure, but he's a good player.

Kinda frustrating to see the Bulls pull off that deal.

And take on that much money for just...a "veteran presence"? What? The only way this makes sense is if Washington turns around and trades him for somebody else.

Either way, moving Hinrich and the pick would push Chicago's space under the cap from $20 million to more than $30 million. That puts the Bulls on equal footing with the Miami Heat in pursuing not just one but two members of a free-agent class that is expected to include LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, Amare Stoudemire and Joe Johnson.

WTF are you talking about? They still don't have enough space to sign Two MAX FAs. Freeing up another $10M is nice, but that means they can add a second-teir player like maaaaaybe Boozer or Joe Johnson depending on the market. This is by no means devastating news for the Knicks hopes of grabbing LeBron or Bosh.

I really hate being a Knick fan. Had we selected Brandon Jennings it wouldn't have mattered if the Heat or the Bulls beat us in free agency, we'd have a nice young core to build around. Yes but any team will take on Taj Gibson and James Johnson which saves them 3 million. Not really hard after that.
