You want a guy who after he hits the big shot, embraces the crowd, gets animated with his body language. You like a guy like T.O. who signs the ball after a touchdown pass. It all adds to the game and ticket sales.
I'd rather watch prime KG goto work than Tim Duncan or Chris Bosh anyday of the week.
No offense but you're probably a little older because I've always noticed that. The older guys are always more reserved and what not. Believe me I'm all for fundamental basketball but you don't have to suck the life out of the game.
Uhm, the game is played on the court, not behind the microphone. If Jennings wants to be heard, wants to get respected, wants to be part of team USA, wants to be an All Star, he needs to let his game talk not his mouth. Hes an entertainer, yes, but hes a BASKETBALL PLAYER, hes not in the WWE. You have to earn things in life, not cry about things when things dont go your way. I dont want a guy whos going to get animated and hyped and act all crazy after a big shot, yet still average 37% from the floor. If your a casual fan then I understand why you prefer that, however Im a die hard fan of the sport and my team and I know that all these antics that hes pulling is only the beginning for what appears is going to be a very problematic career for Mr. Jennings.
Theres a reason why the NBA is a lot more sucessful today than a few decades ago when the NBA finals werent even shown live, they were shown on tape delay. The reason why? Because of marketing. How many endorsements does Tim Duncan have? How many jerseys does he sell? He's boring, quiet, no personality, no connection with the fans.
Nate Robinson is consistently in the top 10 of jersey sales. Guys like him make the league better. Basketball is my life, but I don't like boring people, and I don't like boring players. If the NBA was filled with a bunch of Tim Duncans and no Nate Robinsons or Jennings', or Arenas', thered be a lot less revenue coming in. I love basketball, but like I said all sports are ENTERTAINMENT. I don't enjoy watching Chris Duhon slosh his way up the floor, making the uninspired pass, the uncreative play, etc etc.
You have posters on your wall of Shawn Kemp dunking over 4 defenders, not Chris Duhon making a chest pass..
