It's a sign of respect in my opinion. You want the big match ups early on for good teams.

It also gives the team an idea of just how much work lies ahead. Beating up bums doesn't do that for you.

Beating bums would be nice for building team chemistry though, now Knicks losing early games before chemistry to teams that may hurt us at the end of the season with seeding and stuff. So it's frustrating.

Seems like the NBA setting up the Knicks for failure on purpose

It will even out as the season goes on but I figure all good teams are facing top tier opponents early on for ratings

That being said this team should be way better than 3 and 4.

agree with this. we saw what they looked like on easy mode vs the pistons. but the rockets and hawks should have been medium mode and they looked like ****. so i'm not really hoping to see notable improvements game to game anymore. we won't be great until mitch is back. we won't be good until jalen stops prioritizing getting his unless the fans beat him to it by ripping him a new ****

Cause Buzz and I go back to the ESPN/K4L days and I know he doesn't mean it. You clowns mean it and it's embarrassing to turn on a player who saved and revived the franchise and took a huge pay cut to stay 7 games into the season. DISGRACEFUL! :nonono:

i get that it's frustrating to watch brunson struggle like this and that you feel guilty taking it out on him. that's why some of us stronger fans have called him out on it. cause we can shoulder they venom. go ahead and continue to lash out. we got you.

MSG crowd booing Brunson and chanting Randle's name would be peak Knicks fan behavior. I would hate to see it but also I kinda need to see it.

119.4 DRTG (25th amongst lineups >48 mins)
-2.1 NRTG (12th amongst lineups >48 mins)

That defensive rating is unacceptable

I'm thinking that we might need to put Precious in at PF when he returns and move OG back to SF.

Yeah please try both

Even with Brunson's struggles we've been one of the top offensive teams in the league.

Our defense has been basura though. We need our guys back. And, just as important, Sims OUT of the lineup.

Both OG and MB have been inconsistent on the defensive end and Brunson has been wilding on offense with MB disappearing the past few games but it seems KAT gets most of the hate for the Knicks being inconsistency on both ends.

It appears KAT will be the escapegoat for everything this season....with a side of hate for Terry Johnson, too, but he isn't making all the money so it won't be the same level for him.

Brunson already getting slandered though, he's not allowed to have a rough patch because he rarely does so when he does fickle fans turn on him in a NY minute.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Dude just put up 34 points with 16 rebounds. Some folks have really lost it  our scapegoat averages 23 & 13 on 51, 57, 91 percent shooting. I’d say we are really in trouble and likely won’t find a way out of this.

it's not a slump it's randleball. we as a fanbase are consistently not a fan of looking off open teammates and costing possessions

Scheme doesn't seem to be working. Yet, anyway. I expect OG and Hart to do well because they have a year under Thibs, so they know their assignments. Bridges on defense kind of looks like Hart just after the trade. The trio of OG, Bridges, and Hart are trying to compensate for JB and KAT to boot. I mentioned this a few times, I really don't think Hart works. He should be the 6th man. Precious should be starting with KAT, and KAT can come off the weak side, and you still have your switchability.

Josh has the second worst DRTG in the starting lineup, he and Mikal are gambling too much for steals and neither are really good at POA defense against smaller guards.

It wouldn't shock me if our best lineups turned out to be:

Brunson-McBride-Hart-OG-KAT

Or Brunson-McBride-OG-KAT-Precious

I already had some concerns about Mikal's spot in the starting lineup before we traded for KAT, if you remember. My prediction was that Divo needed to start and one of our three forwards (Mikal, OG, or Randle) needed to come off the bench for better balance.

If Mikal can bring Phoenix-level defense then he's pretty much a guaranteed starter but otherwise, I think a case could be made for switching McBride and Mikal.

It will also be interesting to see how Precious's return affects the rotation.

so 5 first round picks and a swap for a bench player? decent value :D
