It's a sign of respect in my opinion. You want the big match ups early on for good teams.
It also gives the team an idea of just how much work lies ahead. Beating up bums doesn't do that for you.
Beating bums would be nice for building team chemistry though, now Knicks losing early games before chemistry to teams that may hurt us at the end of the season with seeding and stuff. So it's frustrating.
Seems like the NBA setting up the Knicks for failure on purpose
It will even out as the season goes on but I figure all good teams are facing top tier opponents early on for ratings
That being said this team should be way better than 3 and 4.
